I don't hold any ill will towards Skyrim, but the characters' faces are the only thing I have against that game. Good thing it's 1st person so you never have to look at your own.

I'm hoping this is more like Capcom's idea for selling Monster Hunter in the west... which just means giving it a nice ugly paint coat of medievallyness. But seriously... that one uh... "woman" looks like some kind of transvestite chimera.
I get the vibe that they're VERY different, so it could be quite hard to compare both. I'm thinking Dragon's Dogma is a mix of Skyrim with War in the North(and its respective predecessores) with Capcom's very own Lost Planet. With a very painful lack of Breath of Fire, mind you, but still an interesting, enticing mix.

Basically how I see it. I feel like people who say this looks like Skyrim and/or anyone Elder Scrolls game haven't played a single one. I look at this and it reminds me more of like a Zelda/Dark Souls kind of thing. Even that's a stretch though, because it really does look unique enough to hold its own if it isn't complete balls (isn't looking like it so far which is good).

... reminds me of the Fable series. It's not just that they're ugly... it's that there's something just "wrong" about their faces.
Still... it's all about the gameplay and most of us who play WRPG's are used to ugly NPC's! ;)

An action fantasy game by the DMC team? I'd rather they make DMC games, but this still looks Extreme! I'm sure it'll be a perfect counterpoint to Dark Souls.

This is beauty of next-gen gaming people, hideous people in high definition. You'll no longer have to go to Wal-Mart at midnight again, to catch a glimpe of these fine species. Now you can do it in the comfort of your living room.

But seriously, do we really care if the faces of the citizens make them look like a bunch of hobbs? We care about the beasties we gon' be slayin' ya'll.
The only character customization tool i've ever been fully happy with is the one in Saints Row 3. That and mass effect 2.
