Dragon Quest V, Valkyrie Profile: Covenant of the Plume confirmed for America photo
     Squenix

Sqaure-Enix announced that two titles were be coming to North America today, Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride (this marks its US premiere) and tri-Ace's tactical RPG Valkryie Profile: Covenant of the Plume. While I'm feeling kind of sore about tri-Ace after the whole Infinite Undiscovery experience, I will likely give Dragon Quest V a whirl, as I do have a bit of a soft spot for that series.

Dragon Quest V comes out on February 17th and Valkyrie Profile:Covenant of the Plume comes out March 17th, both for the Nintendo DS. With only a month between the two releases, let's hope your RPG skills are up to par, because you'll need them if you hope to finish Dragon Quest V before Valkyrie Profile hits shelves

You know, Valkyrie Profile was pretty much the most complicated RPG I've ever played. If this DS game is a little bit less complicated, I'd be peachy. Seriously though, I never did understand what the heck I was doing in Valkyrie Profile.

SWEET. I checked out the JPN version of Valkrie Profile, and it seems like a pretty cool TBS that still manages to maintain the combo based fighting from the other games.

Yeah, I think it crossed that line between complicated-deep and complicated-confusing.

Hopefully the new VP won't be as fucking awful as Silmeria.

Couldn't give half a shit about Dragon Quest.

Less Dragon Quest, More Valkyrie Profile!

Let them line up for their crappy rehash, while the rest of us enjoy good, wholesome Norse goodness.

For Valkyrie Profile I might have to finally pick up a DS.

@SourGr8pes:

You know this DQ game has never come out in the US before, right? So it's not exactly a rehash for the vast majority of Americans...

DRAGON QUEST V!!! Best news ever! And so soon! Just a short four months away...

I've been waiting a while to be able to play this game; it seems to be such a fan favorite in Japan, and I'll finally know why come February.

I kind of want to stave off from 'DQ' now that the wait until 'DQIX' is not THAT unreasonably far away (probably late next year). Considering that I put 120+ hours into 'DQVIII' I do not want to suffer 'DQ' burnout.

... oh, who am I kidding. 'DQ' ftw.
