From Software disappointed with Ninja Blade on Xbox 360, but it has a chance to redeem itself with the medieval-flavored Demon's Souls on PS3. This PlayStation exclusive looks really pretty, but the amount of gameplay we've seen is limited, despite the game being available over in Japan Land.
Luckily, one our resident Community Bloggers has set us straight and provided confirmation of a fire-breathing dragon that flaps around a bit during one point of the game. The twenty-four seconds of questionable-quality footage does not show or do very much of anything at all, but it's an exclusive console title, and that means fanboys will want to absorb any and all information they can, even if it's silly.
So, dig in and feast upon this hot exclusive video of a dragon that flaps around a bit for twenty-four seconds and then goes away!
Also, our CBlogger seems quite impressed with the game, naming the dragon's appearance as just one "oh sh*t" moment out of many. Sounds like Demon's Souls has a good shot of being far better than Ninja Blade.
Hit the jump for the hot, juicy, mindblowing video.

I think that never in the history of viedogames there's been a game with the word "Demon" on it's title, and have no dragon in-game.
PS: The appearence of the dragon is awesome, you're like, taking your time climbing stairs and out of nowhere you hear a huge noise and then the beast appears.
havent seen game footage? youtube has plenty of game footage. from what ive seen it looks cool, but seems very difficult. not your typical hack and slash game.

I believe unangbangkay has been singing demon souls praises for a while now, and reviewers in moon people land have been giving the game a good score. Im kinda curious as to why one of my favorite devs did everything right with demon souls and never brought it to the U.S , yet screwed up on ninja blade and felt free to send us that turd.
I've been superhyped about this game for about three months. I think there was a thread about it on the somethingawful forums, but those are closed to the public for the time being. Anyway, Demon's Souls is a hardcore action game that requires you to use strategy and tact in combat, as the enemies can usually take you out in a couple hits. Also weapon choice is important, as enemies tend to have strengths and weaknesses. Finally, it looks AWESOME.
In summary, everyone should buy a copy of this game for these and other reasons, or force From Software to release the game in North America.
For current PS3 owners, if you buy the Chinese/Asian release, you'll be happy to note that the entire game is fully translated, and has global, functioning multiplayer.
No one knows. There is absolutely no discernible reason why From or SCEA has not considered it.
And no, I don't buy that bullshit "It's too hardcore for Americans," non-argument. If that were the case it would never have been localized in the first place. NO ONE cares enough about the Asian (i.e. Asian countries that don't speak Chinese/Korean) market to translate a game to English SOLELY for the purpose of release in Asian regions.
@Benzido
I'm intrigued. Does it have extra difficulty modes, including some form of "extreme 1-hit death mode"? Is it harder than Ninja Gaiden on Master Ninja?
@Magnalon
There's a New Game+ mode that's at least twice as hard as the standard game, even though you get to keep all your crap. You can repeat the game as many times as you like, and it should keep getting harder, though the first repeat is the hardest jump of all in difficulty.
@Loki d20
No, the Japanese version DOES NOT have English. All voice-acting in ALL versions is in English, but only the Chinese/Asian version has English text.
@Naim master
No announcement yet, which sucks because this was out way back in January, even before Ninja Blade.
Yeah, and as cool as the dragon might be, there are a number of bosses that have a much bigger HOLY CRAP factor. To those that have played - the first time you meet the God of Dragons? Or how about the Stormruler? And I have a person affection for the Adjudicator (even though he's easy, the first time you walk in and the floor falls out from beneath you... awesome.)
The "extreme 1-hit death mode" is pretty much the entirety of New Game. New Game+ only makes it harder. Game is ridiculously difficult, but oh so satisfying.
Also, yeah, the Asian version is completely in English except for the manual. That isn't a big deal though, because the Demon's Souls wiki more than covers everything you need to know.

YesAsia.com has it for $74 + S&H, which isn't bad for an import.

That sounds like my favorite mechanic ever. "Endless Crescendo Mode".
PATENTED.
