Funny, the only Budokai game I currently own is 2. So it doesn't effect me too much.

We've come full circle folks. A re-make of a sequel that's largely the same as every other game in the series.
I love DBZ but all the blood has been bled from the stone. Try something different already. DBZ needs full geo-mod, up to and including destroying entire planets chunk by chunk. Start there and then build the game on top of that.

Maybe it deals with story elements.. One covered the main story.. 3 covered Dragonball GT and 2 didn't cover much..
Ragnar Dragonball, Dragonball z and dragon ball gt covered everything for us fans the problem is everyone doesn't have a vision for the game or ideas like you what would make a awesome game..
The 1st budokai was my favorite, had it on gamecube. If there's a north American release, I wonder if they'll use the original voice track or not. Too used to goku's original voice actor
Lol, I played the first Budokai when it came out, loved it. Budokai 3 was a lot of fun as well. Budokai 2 was pretty mediocre, in my opinion. The whole "board game" story mode thing just pissed me off, and actually pinned me in a situation where I needed to upgrade myself but was forced to battle Kid Buu who was way more powerful than me. The battle was unavoidable, so I kept losing and had to restart.

(1 was terrible) 2 was the first i played in this series but 3 was the best.. all the anime fighter games that were perfect with 2d fighting style was changed to a very bad formula, terrain moving.. the tenkaichi series was bad.. the first naruto for ps3 was bad and it ruined the series and they continued to make them that way.. they need to go back to the 2d fighting formula and that will fix the problem. (burst limit was terrible)

Budokai 3 is the best anime game ever made, and my personal favorite fighting game ever made. I just played it 2 days age, and it still looked good in 480p(progressive scan). It does kind of suck that they skipped 2, but it was the worst of the bunch, but also a lot more interesting than 1, with the board game campaign.
Anyone that is looking forward to this and loved the originals' soundtracks should know that they will probably be rescored. Most likely using music from the anime. The man who did the soundtrack for the games is rather infamous for plagiarizing music. In fact, he got the boot during the run of Dragon Ball Z Kai, and Toei Animation actually went through all of the finished episodes and replaced the music with the original score. It's something to keep in mind, at the very least.
Budokai 2 wasn't bad but you really don't need it if you have Budokai 3. Who would choose it over Budokai 3?
@Alex Celeski- Well, Budokai 2 DOES do the story mode differently (it has more of a board game style to it rather than "fly around the world map"). It also has more fusions and transformations that weren't in the actual series. For example, Super Buu can absorb Vegeta and Goku and Hercule can fuse. It's mostly a matter of taste- do you want the more complete (and arguably better) fighter, or do you want the one with different content?
i love Dragon Ball but, this is the suckiest news to come out in a long while.. there's NOTHING cool about this hD collection..

I never owned these games, only played them at friends houses, but I always wondered why they would buy more then one of these games. They always looked and played very similar to me.

So they're releasing a Tenkaichi and Budokai Collection? Why not just release a collection with Tenkaichi 3 and Budokai 3 instead, cause there is no way in hell I'm buying both. Keep scraping the bottom of that barrel Namco.

ugh i cant stand this. 2 games is NOT a collection. As a rule, 3 or more could be considered one since trilogies are considered collections. So to have dbzb1 and 3 in but not 2 makes no logical sense. while i only liked 3, thats not the point. Its like how they left out super mario world from the mario collection... even though a cartridge was made os super mario all stars and super mario world.. couldve ported that version of mario all stars... makes no sense. whatever i didnt like budokai... tenkaichi on the other hand is another story
High School of the Dead and Dragonball Z are both just awful. Out of the 100+ characters in DBZ alone 99% of them are men, and the one gay guy in all of Dragonball series combined? He's a FUCKING NAZI.

@Spaz: sry Neon Genesis didn't come to mind immediately. Loved the show, was kind of weird at times, but that pulled you in more.
