Romancing Morrigan in Dragon Age: Origins is an easy thing to accomplish if you’re a bloodthirsty dark fantasy arsehole like my character is. I just slit a few peasant throats, made some unfortunate decisions, handed Morrigan a few dark relics, encouraged her vicious attitude, and boom -- she feel for my character in a spectacular way. I didn’t have designs to bed the woman when I started the game, but then again, how could I resist the Achievement for spending a cold night in her tent?
The above video is the "sex" scene involving Morrigan. It’s been teased a few times by developer Bioware. In fact, I remember it being a large part of the behind-closed-doors presentation at E3, but it isn’t as, uh, hardcore as was hinted -- nobody’s dirty place is revealed; the characters leave their underwear on.
Speaking of underwear, take note: Morrigan wears more clothing in this scene than she actually does in the game. A bra mysteriously appears. And why is that? Not sure, but we're guessing it's because she's a witch.

Yeah. Add a bra during sex when you don't wear one usually. That makes PERFECT sense. Also, is it me or are they doing it in the outside, in plain sight, where everybody can see them?
This is game is very unrealistic. When Brad Nicholson usually finishes with a women, he punches her off into the cosmos and roars so loud that Zeus is shaken from his throne.
That was probably one of the weakest attempts at eroticism I've seen for a while. It's like I was watching one of those crappy low-budget softcore porn movies you see at the video store - "Barely of Age: Sexy Origins" or some equally-horrible pun.
I'm still mildly interested in the game because it's Bioware, but the dialogue and stiff acting (har har) aren't very promising signs.
And then there's the horrible trailer I saw a few weeks ago... Oh dear.
Yeah, it's terrible. That scene made me cringe when I first saw it. Not that I'm against sex scenes--I think they can be very powerful when done correctly. (Titanic)
It's tasteful, but I think Mass Effect's scenes were more explicit. It seems like a backwards step when Bioware touted having these scenes, then just does nothing with them.
I'm not saying we need hardcore, internet caliber pornography, but what is the point of even having a sex scene when you're just going to censor it? I think the way Balder's Gate handled it was better.
Now don't quote me on this, but based on my experience with the game, I think the reason Morrigan sounds so cheesy up until you agree to get it on is because she has no experience with people, especially in those kind of situations.
Well, I think I like how the Mass Effect scenes were better. Less awkward, no ridiculous facial expressions, and no random clothing as a "censorship" to show supposedly more "explicit" positions.
Also, she 'aint Leliana, who is hotter because of Bipolar psychosis and stuff(or at least, that's how the trailers painted her to be).
I'm curious about the "skill acquired" notification in the lower left after you've awkwardly bedded the witch. I bet it's something like "Burns when I pee"
This is what results when a bunch of nerds (Bioware) who've had actual sex 'X' times ('X' being the amount of children they have, could be zero) are left in a room to create a sex scene and dialogue.
Seriously - it's so terribad and full of holes (like much of the bloated and stiff 'story' contained in this game) that it's embarrassing to watch.
They would have been better served bringing in even a soap writer for these scenes, rather than leaving it up to the frothing imaginations of these geeks.
Personally? I think they should've had the entire scene under bedsheets, with 'Enya-esque' music, leaving more to the imagination, and being able to refrain on the cheese and adult-nappy factors.
This game really is god-awful (and I wanted to love it). The combat's just as clunky and awkward as this bedroom romp too.

And I fully disagree with you.. I'm finding this game to be absolutely fantastic and I'm having a great time with the combat (playing on the PC). So, we bring balance to the world with our opposite views. Yay.

That was perhaps the most poorly done scene I've seen in recent times, the fact that its a "sex" scene makes it 100 times more ridiculous/awkward. I was all for games maturing and including scenes like this but come on does it have to be that cheesy? Im boycotting this scene for how badly its done.
I guess I've made my guy kind of "Gibbs-ish"(NCIS) in that he doesn't really care what the party thinks and does what he thinks/knows is best, and it turns out that Lelianna likes that, so I'll probably end up with her. But I totally think Morrigan is cooler.

Interesting, you have to have maximum approval to screw Leliana, but you have to have 50-90 (she won't fuck you at 90+) approval for Morrigan.
