BioWare says Dragon Age II has sold more than one million copies in less than two weeks, and as a thank you note they are offering a free copy of Mass Effect 2 for PC to DAII owners.
Go here if you own Dragon Age II, just enter the code for the online pass that you got with the game (The Black Emporium DLC) and the rest should explain itself. Even easier, or if you had previously registered the code on BioWare Social but threw away the card with the code, just log in and click the "Lost my code" link to automatically activate it.
Activation should work regardless of the platform you bought the game on (it's a code after all), and apparently the free copy of Mass Effect 2 doesn't come with Cerberus Network access totally comes with Cerberus Network access and some DLC, haha!
[Thanks everyone who sent this in, and Max for checking activation protocol]

I lol'd.
I'm guessing this is an indirect apology for making DA2, right?
I love Bioware, but this smacks of a ploy to pull in a few extra bucks off a game that isn't really selling much anymore.
Wow, you people really do know how to look a gift horse in the mouth. "Oh Jesus, they're only offering the -best game of 2010 for absolutely free-, but they aren't giving us some of the extra toppings that are also available on sale separately. THEY'RE RAPING US HORRIBLY"

I know right, I actually think it's a good business idea. Everyone that wants to have bought the game on any platform has had ample opportunity, so now you get a bunch more, all of whom will now get your download manager and a bunch who will buy a decent percentage that will buy some DLC. Bioware looks (and is) generous and makes a couple more bucks, win win.
Oh and it should be pointed out that some dlc game licenses do carry over between console and PC. None of the DLC missions like Shadow Broker and Overlord but pre-order bonus' and collector's edition stuff like the Blood Dragon Armor do since when you register them Bioware licenses it for all platforms.

I liked DA 2 a lot, moreso than the original, but there are things I don't like about it. Bottom line its not a very good sequel to DA:O, but still a good game.
Also you don't need the DLC for ME2, most of it is one-off missions, Shadow Broker can be bought seperately.
I really can't wait for DA3. The setup is there for something really chaotic.
Just got to Act 3, and I'm enjoying it every bit as much as the first game. It's a really solid RPG.
Perhaps you can get a copy of DA2 if ME3 has a better launch. Good luck.
They got great support... im surprised
In before ME3 doesn't have talking because they needed to streamline it.
I'm enjoying myself with it quite a bit too. I can see the things people seem upset about but none of them are stopping me from having a great time with it. I dare say I might be liking the sequel more because of the streamlined combat alone, I'm thrilled not to be consistently pushed away from the enemy I'm fighting by overeager NPC's like I was in Origins.
The lack of a main antagonist actually is part of what made the game so well done (in terms of the story). Gameplay and design wise, I feel DAII was a step back compared to Origins. Rushed and overly simplified. Streamlining I felt worked for Mass Effect and made it a better game in almost every way. It didn't work as well here.
It's still a great game and I feel the story was better than Origins.
Does my copy of Mass Effect 2 include the Cerberus Network content?
Cerberus Network is included and will be entitled to the account used to redeem your Dragon Age II Online Pass. This includes Zaeed - The Price of Revenge, Cerberus Weapon and Armor, Normandy Crash Site, Cerberus Arc Projector, and Firewalker Pack. Visit the offer page to download the necessary files.

If it is not included currently it must be a bug.
Seriously man, could you possibly be more cynical? I mean they are giving you a free game and you still find a reason to complain.
I loved DA2, moreso than Origins. It's a great game. Yes it has its issues, but no more than Origins did. I guess after the near-perfect ME2, people expected DA2 to be absolute perfection and are upset they didn't get it. Seriously, FFXIII got less criticism than DA2 did. That's not right.
I already own Mass Effect 2 for the 360, but come on people - free is free. You're being given a handout and you still want to bitch. I'll be downloading it on PC and giving it another run. I like free stuff. :P
Going to send the Mass Effect 2 code to a friend who for some reason hasn't played that amazing game yet.
