Dragon Age franchise has a 'console future' photo

Recently, MTVMultiplayer had the opportunity to sit down and talk to BioWare co-founder Greg Zeschuk about the upcoming RPG from the company, Dragon Age: Origins. Like most console owners without a decent PC gaming rig, I was greatly disappointed that the game appeared to be PC exclusive. According to Zeschuk, there is a ray of light for console gamers in the future of the franchise.

PC for now is what we’re focusing on, but there is a console future for the franchise. We haven’t really talked about what that’s going to be, but one thing we’re focused on, as folks probably have seen in regards to “Mass Effect” on the PC, is whenever we do a platform choice, we’re very definitive and very specific. We don’t splash it across all the platforms. Like in the case with “Mass” PC we worked really hard to make it even better than the console version. The PC gives us more tools to do that with. That s the approach we’re taking with “Dragon Age” and other games at BioWare.
At least BioWare is willing to entertain the idea of a console release for a PC-centric franchise. My eyes always get misty when I think of possibly missing out on both Starcraft 2 and Diablo III. Hopefully Blizzard can think of a plan for future releases on the same scale that BioWare is with Dragon Age. Until then, I’ll keep my fingers crossed for all three titles.

You could build a system to run all these games for cheaper than a PS3. :P

The problem is that you have to build it, jettoki. Most people don't know how to go about that.

While I can play most games on my PC, I really haven't felt the desire to these past few years. Come back to consoles, BioWare. Please?

I really value the console experience, but as of late it's become a much more physical experience than anything else. I've had plenty of fun with the 360, but it just doesn't seem to differentiate itself enough from my PC.
The Wii, however, offers me what I really have always wanted from consoles:physical, tangible multiplayer experience. I'm not against online gaming, but it just feels much better to look at your friend and say "Come on, bitch. Show me what you got", make bets and the like.
Dragon Age seems to be a very single playerish experience, and it fits well in my PC gaming priorities, so I don't really care if it is ported to anything for that matter.

Dragon Age is the first game I have seen in years that gives me some hope that something similar to Baldur's Gate or Planescape: Torment might still come out. It may be a little stupid, but those green and red circles under the characters on screen bring good memories. Now, having a 360 and a decent gaming PC, I have to side with the PC on this one. I don't really care if the game gets ported to consoles, but since it usually harms some aspects of the game (viz. Oblivion), I am afraid it might in fact happen.
