David Gaider (The Stolen Throne, The Calling) isn’t slated to support the Dragon Age: Origins fiction alone. He’ll have some help courtesy of comic book publisher IDW Publishing, the EA Comics label, and author Orson Scott Card (Ender’s Game).
Big Download reports that IDW’s known Dragon Age comic series is set to kick off and ship to stores this March. Card will be working with fellow author Aaron Johnston, while Mark Robinson (Skrull Kill Krew) will be doing the illustration.
It's unfortunate EA Comics chose Card to help pen this upcoming series. I probably would have tried to get my hands on it otherwise. Oh well, there's always this to keep me busy.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

He's voiced anti-homosexuality sentiments.
Really, if you ask me; he can have whatever opinion he wants, and he can say whatever he wants. Freedom of speech and all. I disagree with him, but I won't necessarily turn away something with his name on it if it still looks good.
It's somewhat dismaying that differences in political opinion set people so squarely against one another, to the point where you can't otherwise share what's *good* that you might potentially both enjoy.
Still...go with your gut, I guess.
My mom won't watch any movies with liberal actors. It's a shame she has to miss out on a lot of good cinema, huh?
Log1c: I'm certain he can't write a decent male character. And that's his clown idea of a "strong suit". Whoever made this call and everyone who had to sign off on it should be embarrassed. Then fired.
Victor Stillwater: Do you need something other than him being a terrible author? I certainly don't. Though the fact that he is an idiot and religious fanatic doesn't help his case, and it is clearly apparent in his writing that it directly detracts from the quality of his work.
Card is a major ACTIVIST against gay rights. Supporting his work inevetibly supports his cause with cash. This is the simple and perfectly valid reason why some people have a problem buying things that pay him royalties.
Two assholes I can't stand all wrapped up together in a spin-off of a game I hate. Nice.

I lul'd. I can please no one but Leliana it seems.
But seriously, some of you are totally getting the wrong idea. While we don't believe in gay marriage, we do believe that gay's should have their rights! In fact, we openly supported "banning discrimination against gay men and lesbians in housing and employment." (http://www.nytimes.com/2009/11/12/us/12utah.html)
I know some gay people myself, and they are really great people. So please don't ASSUME that just because someone is Mormon, that they HATE gay people.
from what I understood, it's not about denying gay people rights, its about the use of a sacred religious ceremon. I think if gay people could get legally binding rights under another kind of ceremony, such as civil unions, most of these people wouldn't care about them being together and having the same social rights.
from what I infer, it's the use of a religious ceremony that offends anti gay marraige activists, not the fact that gay people want rights. I dont think they would shove them all in concentration camps like many of you seem to think, and if you could find a way of making gay unions legal and binding without treading on people's religious beliefs, I think they would support that, like the mormon fellow above implies.
" religion.
But seriously, some of you are totally getting the wrong idea. While we don't believe in gay marriage, we do believe that gay's should have their rights!"
You can't say that you support their rights and then say that we don't believe that they should be allowed to marry.
I'm sure that may be the case for some people, but for most of the anti-gay-rights people I have met, the problem isn't the ceremony; the problem is the concept of homosexuality period. Their faces twist in disgust if you ever bring the topic up, and most of them are completely pleasant, non-judging people about most other things. For many of them, it comes down to the Bible saying things like "a man should not lie with a man the way he lies with a woman." Most seem to interpret that as a God-given imperative for homophobia.
Why does government?
Neither invented it.
Marriage is a promise between 2 people. Gays can marry right now. Why the fuck does a priest or gov official need to give you permission?
Do I need permission to be someones son, father, or best friend? Why not husband?
and also, being someone's father or son is something you have no control over whatsoever, if you like it or not. It's not a ceremony you choose to have.so that wasnt a great comparison.
It's not hard to understand that some people brought up strictly to believe something will never change their mind. I think thats a bad thing, but when someone has been brought up that strongly, what can you do? I mean outside of putting a gun to their head and forcing them to accept it, what can you do?
I dont and never will agree with homophobes. But it's not as simple as them just hating for the sake of it, most of them were brought up a certain way, and it's VERY hard for people like that to change their views. Im not saying I agree with it, I think thats a failing of the parents, but honestly, what can you do to force them to accept it?
Do I need permission to be someones son, father, or best friend? Why not husband?
