Double your XP on Call of Duty 4 this weekend ... if you have a PS3 photo

It's not often that maligned PS3 owners get good news, but today certainly brings them some. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare has had a few hitches on Sony's black box of Blu-ray, but Infinity Ward is making it up to PS3 gamers everywhere by offering double the experience points in multiplayer matches this weekend.

Starting on Friday and running through to Monday, you'll be levelling up at double the speed, which should come as something of a salve for those who have had to deal with the matchmaking and stat-tracking issues that originally plagued the PS3 version of CoD4. If you can't wait to kill "insurgents" more efficiently, this weekend was made for you.

That gives me one reason to be jealous of PS3 owners. Wait, no, two. Talladega FTW!

well I don't feel bad because the ps3 textures are downrezzed versions of the 360s'.

also, just imagine if saddam had been allowed to equip UAV jammer and martyrdom.

the world would be a very different place. he'd be a fourth level prestige by now.

Last weekend I had an issue of my rank not being saved. Went from level 7 to 22 only to have it rank back down to 7 the next day. I know there were a few others I talked to that had the same issue. Maybe this is to make up for that, but I'll definatly be there when I can to take advantage of this for sure.

@big filth

use Extreme Conditioning to be very mobile, and get out of sticky situations. also, sorta converse to that, use it to get IN the sticky situations. sometimes you can jump into a firefight before it is over and pick off multiple people who are shooting at each other. just be careful not to run into the barrel of a gun or the edge of a knife.

the perk pairs up really well with SMG's like the mp5, and even LMG's so you are actually a bit mobile with them. but really, it can be used for anything. a lot of it may depend on your play style. it fits me like a glove. good luck.

also, extreme conditioning is the best perk!!

taicho are you talking about ps3 lower res textures than 360? because I'm not making that up. I'll find the post with comparison shots.

Martyrdom is bullshit. But I bet you PS3 owners looove to grief with it. They should rename it to Angst Attack.

@ Danro

Yeah, martrydom is pretty stupid, but I just assume everyone I kill will drop a grenade, so I either back away or run past their body. But having a whole team of douchebags camp in an upstairs room with claymores guarding the entrance IS bullshit.

@bahamut

In the grand scheme of the game does it really make that much of a difference which one has slightly better textures than the other? I'm not sure about you, but for myself during gameplay and multiplayer especially I'm not looking at how detailed this brick wall is. I'm more concerned about the other guy shooting at me, rather than how detailed this building is.

Corak at 12/06/2007 14:37
For the douches that guard buildings like that I just wait for them to come out and hope the rest of my team realizes that but most don't. They want to stay in there during a death match let them. Either that or wing a few grenades through the windows from long range and hope for the best.

Uav Jammer + Deadly silence + 3 special nades = many knife kills

Leveling up it sooooo easy. Kill 150 ppl with one wep and get 1k exp. Do this for all your weapons and your laughing. I think I only have 11 more levels until I hit the EPIC # 55.

I just picked this version up because of this. That and the friends I have that only have a Playstation 3. Personally I prefer the 360 controller for FPS, though I did get to level 8 in around 2 hours.
