Double Fine announces Kickstarter for new strategy game
Massive Chalice needs your money
Double Fine made history last year with the Broken Age Kickstarter, bringing in over $3.3 million after asking fans to help fund it. Today, the industry darling developer announced a new Kickstarter campaign with hopes for a repeat performance.
Massive Chalice promises tactical battles similar to those found in X-COM or Final Fantasy Tactics, taking place over the course of many lifetimes. As a result, individual warriors will gain experience, age, and eventually die, but not before leaving behind offspring with similar traits.
As is often the case with Kickstarter games, no gameplay has been shown, but Double Fine's pedigree will likely carry this campaign to success with ease. As of this writing, only minutes after the launch of the campaign, Massive Chalice has already attained over $75,000 of its $725,000 goal. Setup email comments
