Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed RoE, but I don't want that to be the 'lost level' because it isnt.
And please, let the stupid flashlight armor thing be optional. The entire game was built around only being able to have a weapon OR your flashlight out at once. Change that and it breaks the game. As much as Resident Evil and Metal Gear Solid desperately needed modern controls prior to RE6 and MGS4, simply throwing them into the old games without changing how they're designed wouldn't work.
Plus I didn't mind that I couldn't use a flashlight because I understood that holding a giant fucking gun kind of occupies both my hands. Maybe if they let you use it with a pistol or something, but that's about it. Never really affected my immersion into the experience.

I get that you're a PC elitist (your posts on this site have made that perfectly clear), but can you at least try and pick your battles? The game has never been on PS3 or 360. It wasn't on PS2 or GameCube either, and the Xbox port was significantly scaled down from what the PC version was capable of at the time, it didn't run in HD, and the backward compatible version runs like shit on 360.
This is effectively a 360 and PS3 game. It's probably going to sell the most copies on 360 and PS3. That's why they're making the game. Just accept it and move on. We get it. Your PC can run Doom 3 on high in 1080p. Good for you. So can mine. But as far as the entire fucking industry is concerned, 720 vertical pixels is still "high definition". Let it go.
Totally putting aside the fact that the current version of Doom 3 is effectively broken for most modern computers without some manual fixes and work-arounds and id Soft has done nothing to help with patching it.
That aside, I definitely liked the darkness aspect of doom 3, but to say that in the future in dark space stations guns don't come equipped with mounted flashlights is just silly.
