DOOM 3: BFG Edition announced for 360, PS3, PC

10:30 AM on 05.30.2012

Bethesda has announced a remastered version of id Software's DOOM 3, due to release on the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. DOOM 3: BFG Edition will feature both the original game and its Resurrection of Evil expansion pack, alongside "hours" of new content.

Seven new levels, collected under the umbrella of The Lost Mission, are going to be bundled in, while the main game will be subject to new graphical upgrades, a better checkpoint system, and an armor-mounted flashlight to make seeing and shooting a bit more convenient.

As if that wasn't enough, both DOOM and DOOM 2 are being tossed in as well. Nice!

It had its problems, but I adore DOOM 3. It's one of the few games I find legitimately scary, and I'm really excited by a remastered version, especially with the extras it's containing. You can definitely count me in for this. It'll be available this Fall.

DOOM 3: BFG is finally out today, have a launch trailer

Can you believe DOOM 3 came out eight years ago? To be honest, I feel like it didn't even really need an HD release. To me it still looks fantastic. Oh well, I guess it looks even better now, so that's cool. Also, it's in 3D...more

E3: Turn the lights off! New Doom 3: BFG Edition screens

Gotta say that Doom 3 looked a lot more terrifying back in 2004, but hopefully Bethesda is still polishing it up. That "Lost Missions" chapter seems interesting as well, but the game won't coming anytime soon. Doom 3 BFG Edition will be bringing 2004 high-definition hell to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC this fall.more

Uncanny Valley: Playing videogames can get you killed

Uncanny Valley, that promising survival horror game with the medical posters on the wall, has released a fun little Halloween video. There is a game within the game, an arcade cabinet called Anarchy Man, which you can totally play while you're playing the game. Of course, this may not be the best idea in a horror game...more

Yesterday, Alone in the Dark: Illumination went up for pre-order on Steam. The "Eldritch Edition," as it were, with a mildly reduced price, exclusive weapon and character skins, blah blah blah. Today, Atari is finally showin...more

Summer Camp is a survival horror game where you can play as the killer

This teaser trailer for Slasher Vol. 1: Summer Camp isn't much to go off, but the concept -- a third-person survival game inspired by '80s slasher films -- is strong enough that I'm listening. In this first game, you'll play...more
