I don't follow the "big news" or the "hot gossip," but I do know that Tiger Woods had a little fender bender and everyone made a huge deal out of it. I hate the news media sometimes. Look at this piece of sh*t from the worst thing ever to happen to American media, TMZ. "This is the Hydrant that Tiger Woods Hit" reads the headline, and the article itself is a picture of a fu*cking hydrant. "Exclusive," the image screams. Leave the guy alone.
At least things on the videogame side remain calm. EA's got no beef with the golf superstar. Their relationship remains "unchanged," they say.
Our strong relationship with Tiger for more than a decade remains unchanged. We respect Tiger's privacy, we wish him a fast recovery and we look forward to seeing him back on the golf course.
Good on you, EA.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Good for EA. Nice to see a company that respects people and not the money behind them.
I don't feel sorry for any celebrities when it comes to the media. The celebrities get exactly the amount of attention they asked for.
Is it just me or has the media been specifically more stupid than usual the last 3 weeks? Maybe it's me.
@runtheplacered
To be fair Tiger Woods has never been the type to tan himself with limelight. I think he should expected this attention when he became a bajillionaire but I wouldn't say he asked for it.
What's he gonna do? Say "No thanks I don't wanna be one of the richest men in the world. The news might talk about me," and walk away?
That's why it's such a big deal. He's always been Mr. Humble and "the good guy". Recent events show he's just as much of a scumbag as Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant or any other cheater.
Had he always been the jackass on tour like John Daly, it would be less of story.
When you're endorsing Nike (with the biggest endorsement deal, ever), General Motors, American Express, General Mills, and god knows what else... how can you say he's not tanning in the limelight? I don't know of anyone that's getting a better tan then this guy.
A guy like that that's acting like he doesn't want attention is simply wanting his cake and he wants to eat it, too. He wants to be advertising (thus seen by as many people as possible.. that's what advertising is) yet he wants to not be seen? That just seems hypocritical.
He could have plenty of money from his winnings and maybe one endorsement. But when he chose to take on the biggest endorsement the world has ever seen, he gave up his ability to act like a reclusive. That's the way I look at it anyway. Like I said, if you want the billion dollars that goes with being his kind of celebrity, you better be sure you can take the bad with the good. If he couldn't handle that, I'm sure he could live just fine with the hundreds of millions of dollars he could have made otherwise.
I'm not saying he should be blockaded by a wall of sympathy but I am saying the press isn't obligated to keep cameras in his face just because he's a rich athelete and he isn't neccesarily an attention whore either.
The fact is I hate people who feel bad for stars who get coverage like this, cuz it's a two way street. The media is what made him, and if he makes mistakes, of course it's the medias job to follow it! Why does everyone think the worst about the media? It's really annoying!
Also, Tigers an a-hole anyway. He deserves anything that comes to him.
Yeah he shouldn't get off scott free, but the man did nothing immoral. He just got into a car accident.
It's Tiger woods
Tiger is a golf star
sex scandal
sad really as this is nothing new in the superstar world. Fender bender, Woods messing with girls...big whoop. Who hasn't done this yet?
It's not as bad as reporting that someone gained 3 lbs or something, but it is still kinda stupid..he could've done something worse. But since he's a celebrity people have to show everyone every little thing he does to make him seem like a bad person and point out every little flaw in a person.
