Klei Entertainment said it was looking into bringing Don't Starve to PS Vita and the studio confirmed today that it's moving forward with the port. This version will launch with the Reign of Giants DLC included -- that's two extra characters, more seasons, new biomes, and, duh, giants.
Touch controls are also in, as expected. "Navigation for menus, maps, items, and crafting are all touch friendly, or you can use the classic button navigation," says Klei.
The release date is unknown at this time, but this year seems like a reasonable expectation. The studio also says it is in the "final steps" of releasing Reign of Giants on PS4. Speaking of that version of the game, no Cross-Buy -- it was a PS Plus freebie already, and the DLC isn't built in like it is for Don't Starve on Vita -- but there's hope for savings by way of an upgrade plan.
