It's a fine line between this and Subway's Uncharted 3 advertising. At least this campaign acknowledges that it's ridiculous.

Pepsi did not exist in ancient Japan where the Dynasty Warriors games take place. This effectively undermines any serious attempt at actually successfully advertising Pepsi because the viewer is drawn to the obvious historical impossibility and therefore simply cannot take it seriously.
Nathan Drake, however, could easily enter a Subway because the Uncharted games take place in our time where Subway also exists. Since it's possible for Drake to eat Subway products, the advertising can be seen as successful, therefore he's a sell-out.
