Quantcast

Let me tell you what watching these trailers makes me want to do (hit the jump to see the second one). I want to throw open all the windows in my house, throw my clothes to the winds, and sing the praises of Namco Bandai and tri-Crescendo for making a game that looks like Fragile come to life. Seriously, this is literally the exact type of title, from design to music to action, that puts me on the floor in a writhing tangle of joy, and I hope it may put some of you in the same state of fervor.

These new trailers not only show off more of the gameplay and music of Fragile, but confirm for me what I've already been suspecting: that this game ishovering dangerously close to being my most wanted title of 2009. It will be released this month in Japan, so I will be keeping my ear trained for any news on its US release. At that point, the clothes-hurling will commence.

Dear Fragile:

Don't take this the wrong way, because trust me, the Wii could use more attractive games such as yourself, but please--

Don't let yourself be just another pretty face. I want this love to be real. After the heartbreak of Fatal Frame IV coming to the States (yet), I can't take losing another "lost-in-a-dark-bunch-of-rooms-flashlight" simulator. They are just to precious to me.

With bated breath,

Jonathan

It's with games like these that I wish Japanese gaming companies have the balls to simply subtitle it and release it in the US to see how they do. I wouldn't want to lose the feel of this game in any way with bad translated voice over work and especially worse, translated music *shudder*.

I think they should do subs with the Boku no Natsuyasumi series and just bring them over. *sigh*

My list of reasons why I should buy a Wii is growing. Is it just me, or would this make an awesome survival-horror game?
Now that would be awesome.

I hope they pronounce it 'FRA-JILE' like it's supposed to for the US release. It bothers me when Japanese IPs take a word we use in our own everyday speech, change the pronunciation, then release an English version with the actors all using said pronunciation. Eureka 7 is a good example.

Funny, I don't get the survival horror vibe AT ALL. I get more of an Alice in Wonderland, Labyrinth type feel. Which is so much cooler.

If Namco treats this game like they do their Tales series, this will never see an American or European launch. That's what worries me the most about this.

Dear god it's -so beautiful-. Jesus, it's got to be the best looking game on the Wii. Every time I see one of these videos they look better than the last.

Hammer XSeed's email ( comments@xseedgames.com ) about the game! I've talked to one of the staff and they've said they're getting a ton of letters and they're definitely keeping an eye on the game for a US release. Keep the emails coming!

This looks like it has the potential to be a brilliant title. I've been following it for a while now.

Also for all the naysayers in the above comments: "Shut the fuck up and get back to playing Halo. This game isn't for you 'lowest common denominator' types."

Why am I always the only negative one when it comes to these games?

I think it looks pretty boring to me and I have no idea where these "good graphics" people are seeing can be found. Seems like all you do is walk around slowly with a flashlight and mash attack when appropriate.

Since I had never heard of or seen this game before (and it wasn't mentioned in the post), I had guessed this was a PSP or PS2 game from the trailer.

Stop creaming yourself every time something semi-decent looking heads down the pipeline for the Wii. People are salivating over Wii games that most of us wouldn't have given two shits about if they were released last gen.

They only look good in comparison to the wealth of shovelware Wii owners are burried in.

Fair Enough, but what would Tyra Banks think about these "good graphics"?

I think its her place to decide what looks good, not yours.

Of course, that could be the cream talking . . .

After the new Prince of Persia failed to adequately produce that Team ICO feel that I've been sorely missing, I'm looking to this game to fill the void... if it ever comes State-side.

I love a game with heart.

I hope this gets a localization, or at the very least subtitles or something. I must have this game!

I had big hopes for this, but it seems like it's really taking the stupid stereotype-anime road (the bad anime). Not the setting perhaps, but with the voices and now characters that seems more irritating then before. A subtle beautiful story/setting, not screaming japanese chicks.

YES! Colette, you're amazing!

I've been lusting over this game since the first images arose. If this doesn't come out here I'm going to import it along with a Japanese Wii and learn Japanese. This needs to come out. I'm glad to see some more exposure, the game really looks better every time I see it.

Also, I guess the combat is horrible- hoping there isn't too much of that though.

@ Kia, Great idea! I just emailed XSEED I would recommend others do the same on a regular basis from multiple accounts!

Here is the address again: comments@xseedgames.com
