I feel sorry for the team behind the WiiWare version of La-Mulana. It's tragically still not released in Europe or the United States, and every so often, they issue an apology blog just to remind onlookers that the game hasn't slipped into that final level of development hell.
"There are several reasons why it has taken longer than we initially expected and I really would like to tell you all about it," reads the post. "However, we’re in the business of making great games and want to continue doing so for as long as we can."
"We can say that sometimes making games and the elements surrounding them can be a massive pain in the ass because it’s not all just game development." La-Mulana is complete, and will see a WiiWare release "no matter what."
For now, though, work has started on a PC version. Let's hope getting it out to the public will be much less of a hassle -- it should be.
Jordan Devore is Destructoid's PC gaming manager and founding ginger editor. He is said to be easy to love but difficult to know. When Samit inquired about his curious bio photo Jordan simply replied:
"bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Will buy for PC.
Even though I haven't gotten very far in the original version because it's obscure and tough as buckets, and I'm not hardcore enough.
Immediately disappointed when I realized it wasn't Olmec.
I can't decide if the proper reaction to this requires a picture of Leonardo DiCaprio or Xzibit.
They did that with Cave Story+ and it turned out pretty fucking good.
I wonder what happened to Xzibit... has he released a new album yet?
I haven't given Cave Story+ a go yet; I feel weird spending money on something that was free to begin with.
@Zsxd
His new album is scheduled to be released "early 2012," though as he was originally shooting for 2010 I wouldn't hold my breath.
I miss Xzbit.
that's what I did with cave story, but the PC version came with the Humble bundle #4
Boy back in mah day you did not get save points let alone the ability to save a game for later
In fact if you died you had to start at the beginning of the game!
So when there is bosses in a zone that only people with skill could get to just cherish the fact that is teh only part of the game that you get to be a man in...
BTW sry about the trolling I just wanted to flaunt off how old of a man I've become... wait that's a good thing???
OOPS!
I'm 36, I grew up with those old games. I'm just not as patient when I have a Steam backlog to get through lol.
