If you're waiting for our Tony Hawk: Ride review, sit tight -- we don't even have the game in our hands yet, despite the fact that it's on store shelves.
But you know that famous skateboarding bulldog? Well, not only does he have it, but he's mastered it. In this YouTube clip, the dog steps on the skateboarding peripheral and basically rocks it. While I don't have the game, I have played it on more than one occasion, and I must admit that this dog is far better than I am.
Did anyone out there drop the $120 on Tony Hawk: Ride this week? If so, tell us what you think.
My brother got the game for free off that whole Twitter Hunt thing. I gave it a try for a few hours.
Casual mode is cool cause its essentially a rail skater that has branching pre-set paths (just sort of lean into it and you're set). Its great since it gives you a chance to learn all the movements for tricks without having to worry about the board going all out of whack and turning on your line. I did however find it harder to perform the easier tricks (kickflips and pop shoves), though I didn't mind watching my character hammer out tre flips and varials like no one's business.
Another reason I like this mode so much is because the learning curve for balancing and riding around is RIDICULOUS. I was doing the training session for free steer that was essentially hitting checkpoints in a straight line. I couldn't go 5 feet without completely going in the wrong direction and into a tree. I can't imagine having to focus on steering and trick landing at the same time.
Also a downside- all the character's kinda look douchey. I was tinkering around with Create-a-skater and expecting way more than I got. It was hard to make a character not come out looking like a pre-teen tool that came straight out of a mall with all his "dope gear". I also miss game's having everything for that mode unlocked from the get-go, I don't want to get a better score on a challenge just to unlock some ugly shoes.
Maybe if I spend more time with it I'll like it more, but for now I'd say "Find a way to Demo it"

Cool, it's believable until the 360 as drakengard says. Hello mr. I like to spin my dog on a plastic skateboard. And It would be cool to see a review of sorts for it.
I doubt this movie is fake, there's another video with the SAME DOG ACTUALLY SKATBOARDING in a skate park. No ollies or grinding obviously but hey, it's still pretty sweet. Search up Skateboarding Dog on YouTube, or wait until the video above is done and it should be there with other vids on the bottom of the screen.
