Seriously though, the sad part is that if done properly (i.e. being similar to Silent Hill or other 3rd person adventure-action games), these games will be more true to the spirit of the original series than most of the rubbish that's been put out lately (e.g., Victory of the Daleks).
If I get around to it, I'll probably review it in the cblogs.
@Guncannon: Victory wasn't that bad. It was mostly an excuse to bring back the Daleks after RTD decided to write their destruction into a corner, but I like how they're showing the old violent side to The Doctor again.
I'd gladly pay money for it. It's a Doctor Who game. And I'd like The Doctor to be experienced in the lounge room, not the sitting room.
@ Guncannon - Disagree. Not the greatest Dalek story ever - but Genesis can only happen once. And loving the subplot buildup. Personally I'm feeling this Moffat series shares many more elements of the classic Doctor era (by which I mean 1970 - 1978 Dicks/Letts/Holmes/Hinchcliffe) than Russell T's.
But if Doctor Who fans could ever agree on favourite episodes (or eras) - well that just wouldn't be right!
These are free, right? So if it's your choice as to whether you download them or not, then you can't really complain too much.
I'm guessing these are going to be (a bit) like Telltale's games? They might be rather good. Or at least worth a look.
Will play it in the hope that I can manipulate the camera to see up the Amy Pond avatar's skirt, that might be worth a wank.
This was one of the best new Dalek stories since the revival, though it really needed to be a two parter - I felt it ended just as soon as it really began. RTD managed to turn my childhood nightmare into a massive joke and I think Victory was a step in the right direction.
Loved the nod to the Troughton era Dalek serials though.
Also, no 360/ps3 downloadable? I'd happily pay 10-15 an episode for this..
..maybe more.
Anyway I might download this if it's free as I'm loving the new series.
Steven Moffat > Russel T Davies by far.
Anyway, this game looks horrible. But who's surprised by that?
As if a region lock will mean anything on a PC game.
Great news, looking forward to it. Will probably be the first ever full game I torrent, because hey it's supposed to be free anyway. Thanks British tax payers!
Doctor Who in the adventure game style is a great idea, I only hope it is more Sam and Max style than Zelda style, but either will work I guess. I love the new series, Matt Smith is the best Doctor in a long while for me and the stories finally feel mature and classic again, more about good sci-fi than Rose's mother.
