Here's the much hyped GameTrailers world exclusive videos of Resistance 2 in action. The first video here shows a mission where the human resistance needs to take out a couple of sentry guns as well as a bunch of Chimera soldiers. The trailer ends with a guest appearance by a Brumak from Gears of War 2.

For more information on Resistance 2, watch the full episode of GameTrailersTV from last Friday. They talk about some interesting new additions to the game including a boss that will be 300 feet tall. That should be a fun boss battle.

One more video of another single-player level as well as a multiplayer video after the jump.

The second single-player footage shows a large amount of Grims attacking the main character. Like, tons of them. This actually looks really fun. I love the franticness of it all, so long as there isn't an entire stage like this of course cough *Library from Halo 1* cough

Finally, we have our first glimpse at the multiplayer. Looks really good. I love that there are a ton of people on the maps. Too bad it seems like everyone that is playing against the main guy seem like they have no idea how to play the game.

So, now that you've seen Resistance 2 in action, what are your first impressions?

I never played the first one. What's so special about this series, because from what I can see it looks a little generic?

well, it says "Work in Progress" on top of the videos, so i won't judge it too harshly.

the Grim trailer looks like it'll be fun, but the other two are underwhelming.

it just seems unpolished, but there's nothing stopping it from being a good game.

I've yet to be impressed by this series. I'll admit I haven't played much of the first game (only the PSN demo and some multiplayer with friends), but it doesn't compel me to spend $60. I don't know what it is, but in the first game and these videos, battling these Chimera just feels so fake and boring. Maybe I'm too used to the awesomeness of COD4

No blood? Even the first one had blood. And why is the enemy a bunch of anorexic metrosexual zombies wearing black tank tops now? The weapons look less futuristic than the 1st game too. And they took out motion sway...

Dare I say this actually looks like less fun than the first game.

Looking good. I was impressed with the second video. I'm sure it's probably not a new scenario in gaming, but it's pretty rad having such a large number of (albeit weak) enemies rushing you like that. As Hamza said though, hopefully it won't happen too often.

I really hope they deliver on this one. Haze has increased my skepticism, but we shall see.

High definition and access to millions if not billions of color palettes and still we see brown. If I wanted to see brown on my HDTV I'll smear my shit on it.

honestly I am pretty tired of the FPS genre as a whole, it really has to have something unique about it to make it something special- I am growing more and more fond of 3rd person games as of late since FPS's tend to be thing running at you or shooting at you and you just shoot as fast and accurate as you can

I think it looks fun. Some HL2 style platforming, nice. That sniper part looks pretty bitchin too.

Did you just say Half Life 2 platforming was fun?

@ Brahms

If you're talking to me, then yeah, I did say it was fun. Did you not enjoy it? I found it intuitive and fun - mixed things up a bit. Wait, were you playing it on PC or a system? I heard that using the controller was tough with some aspects of the game. I played it on PC and I never had a problem with controls.

Um, wasn't it HL1 that had wonky platforming, not 2? I know Half-Life 2 pretty well (though, admittedly, it's been a while since I've played it) and I don't recall any significant or headachy platforming sections. (And I play it on a console.)

Apart from the neutron cannon or whatever it was not destroying, I was impressed. Loved RFOM1, particuarly the genius weapons (bullseye, spike grenade etc) and the epicness of it all. Looking good Insomniac!

Needs mar churches though.

With 5 more months to go, this game is looking great already.

Can't wait to take down that Godzilla/Hedgehog looking thing. Maybe SEGA is behind the Chimera and they've created a radioactive super Sonic as the ultimate weapon?!?

Anyways, me want R:FOM2!

Looks like it owes a lot to Half life2, and not just the platforming. What about that floating hack thingy. And for grim, read antlion.
Not that I'm complaining. I loved HL2.

@ Sharpless

My only guess is that he's referring to the part where you have to cross antlion territory, jumping from debris to debris. But I didn't find that to be a headache, actually, looking back, it's one of the most fun and memorable parts of the game.

Oh, okay. Point. I enjoyed that section of the game, though. I've actually gone back and played that portion just for fun, before. And I remembered that there's also the portion where you have to get through the radioactive waste-flooded tunnel - so, yeah, I guess it does have platforming, in a sense.

"I've yet to be impressed by this series. I'll admit I haven't played much of the first game (only the PSN demo and some multiplayer with friends)"

I love comments that start out like that. I haven't played the game, besides the demo, and that makes my opinion just as valid as someone who has played the entire game. Another example would be something like this. Yup I have no experience as a pilot of any kind but those astronauts are pretty stupid, even I could fly the shuttle with no flight experience. Not saying you can't comment on something, but to make your words hold some weight it helps to have experienced the entire game to make a solid opinion of it.

That said, the first one was ok, a decent launch title, the big battle multiplayer matches could be fun in the new one though. I hope the single player experience has some good boss battles and a good length with some replay value.

I had tons of fun with the 1st one, and I'm a sucker for FPS games so this is looking good.
