This looks just like the previous DMC games but a little bit more pretentious. That's all.
Also, I can haz boycott for Dante's hairstyle, plz.
All I want at this point is the game to be good. Enslaved wasn't bad but it sure wasn't anything amazing either. It was just a good game. I hope ninja theory goes above and beyond with this.
Then why so much focus on aerial combat Ninja Theory?
But the game is still just a Ninja Theory game with DMC slapped onto it. Story wise this game will probably be rather good even more so than previous Devil May Cry games. Gameplay wise this game will probably turn out mediocre and bland like heavenly sword and enslaved.
As for my opinion:
Devil May Cry should play like Devil May Cry, a high speed, highly refined Hack and Slash. Not Slow and Deliberate, like Enslaved. It shouldn't have cinematic moves, like the trailer gave an impression of, you shouldn;t have too much of an over-reliance on Aerial Combat, which the new game suggests.
It should bascially be like Bayonetta. I'll give this a chance, but based on NT's track record, they're not the team for a new DMC.
Automatically. No exceptions.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Team Ninja writes really good stories for mediocre games. I'd have loved it if they gave Dante their treatment, storywise, while having the Capcom team work on the game using the DMC 4 engine.
But...
The more NT talks about this game, the more I think I'm going to hate it. It's just a gut feeling.
That graphic makes me think even less of everyone whining over DMC. I can't believe someone put that together.
Why isn't the fact that Capcom picked the design for Dante, and sent NT back to the drawing board when they presented a very traditional Dante to Capcom in your talking points? Because it doesn't align with your preconceived notions on a game you haven't played yet?
I myself hate Tameem's smugness and declaration that dissenters are just in denial, I personally have issues regarding Ninja Theory's very subpar track record and frankly the game doesn't seem like it'll be able to match the speed of older DMCs.
That music thing is awesome, though, more games should do that.
Aurain's post has a point though.
Prove me wrong, contrarian.
Or would you be getting an increasingly large lump in your stomach as you realized that a series you loved was going to be forever changed, in some ways good, in some ways bad, but not remotely the same except for on a very superficial level?
If you can honestly answer that you'd be fine with it, if anyone who were to see the sort of things that are happening to the Devil May Cry series happen to their favourite series after a critically successful, commercially successful entry. Well, you are more forgiving and understanding individuals than I.
theyve realized that developers owe them nothing, and simply because they are playing the game doesn't mean the game was made for them.
Mayhap their mothers aren't letting them use the computer because of how angsty they get after whining at the Internet.
New topic.
THIS GAME WILL BE A GAME AND FOR THAT I WILL RAGE.
Oh, and the fact that Ninja Theory made Kung Fu Chaos, the terrible Heavenly Sword, and Enslaved's sub-par combat system (while Enslaved was a good game overall, the combat was pretty awful).
Its the same issue with the Silent Hill vita game.
Everyone was crying over it before playing it
Ugh... really? Can't it be the other way around, so that we can AVOID the screaming vocals if we do well?
So please keep your ignorant notions to yourself.
And just to drive a point home, let's pretend Link is now a human and dressed like the situation and he just loves MLP. So much so that he's going to Chicago to find and destroy the Seven leaders of the Anti-Brony Association.
dunno why people want more of the same, especially since this is being made by a different company. If you want more of the same, stick with the previous Devil May Cry games and stop bitchin about the new one.
and maybe this time around, we'll have a DMC with a better narrative and some real substance.
If Mr Sterling and his colleagues actually cared to look at gamer's other concerns than oh-so-easy-to-pick-up-on hairstyle, they would find out that not only Ninja Theory, a developer of 2, good, but not great games is taking too many liberties with the franchise questioning the other 4.
This, and the biggest problem is that the game won't be running at 60 FPS, kicking out the DMC's major feature and attraction - it won't be so technical anymore, turning it into more or less a God of War type of slasher. I am sure fans of this series are very pleased, it just the hair colour that made him so mad, right?!
I only played their Heavenly Sword and this is not a company that should handle the franchise. Maybe the stroytelling will be good, but then again, WHO PLAYED DEVIL MAY CRY FOR STORY IN THE FIRST PLACE? Still hoping the game will be enjoyable for people that actually expected male version Bayonetta. If they can even have such expectations.
So, um, yeah, screw the journalists?
The point wasn't driven home. The point was bound, gagged, and taken across the state and dropped in the woods. The point is currently cold and afraid. The point has no idea how to even get to civilization, much less home. The point is going to show up on milk cartons and the evening news. There is an Amber alert out for the point.
What I'm trying to say is that your argument is stupid and makes no sense even in the context of the previous paragraph. No scratch that, especially in the context of the previous paragraph. When your argument is that you don't hate it because it's different, you shouldn't follow that up with saying the point is that it's different.
