DJ Hero's pre-order bonuses detailed photo

DJ Hero is almost upon us and Activision has detailed all of the bonus items major retailers are providing with pre-orders of the game:

  • Amazon.com – Pre-order DJ Hero and DJ Hero Renegade Edition from Amazon.com and get a $5 credit towards the music tracks that inspired the music for the game
  • Best Buy – Pre-order DJ Hero from Best Buy and receive a free code that unlocks a Daft Punk level
  • GameStop – Pre-order DJ Hero and DJ Hero Renegade Edition and receive two free playable song downloads
  • Guitar Hero Store – Pre-order DJ Hero and DJ Hero Renegade Edition and receive free two-day shipping
  • Hollywood/GameCrazy – Pre-order DJ Hero and receive an exclusive turntable slipmat
  • Walmart.com – Pre-order DJ Hero at Wal-Mart.com and receive a $10 electronic gift card
I have to wonder just who would be excited enough to pre-order from GameCrazy for a slipmat. Seriously, GameCrazy? You're offering a slipmat while Amazon and Walmart are offering money? No wonder you're closing down a bunch of stores.

Where do you plan on picking up DJ Hero from?

I preordered mine last night from Amazon.

This is pretty kickass considering I got a $10 credit and a code for three songs already.

I've had the renegade edition preordered from amazon for about a month now. I can't wait for Nov. 2.

Yeah, everyone thinks I'm crazy for spending that much on a game I've never played. I have faith it will be good though and getting a metal turntable w/case is too good a deal to pass up. It also means I'll only need to buy the disc when DJ Hero 2 inevitably comes out.

I really want this game but it's so expensive and there's so many games coming out that I'm just not sure.

I don't even know what one of those is...

Well let's see what the google has to say.

Ahhh it's a mousepad with a hole in the middle.

@AgentMoo: A slipmat is used on the turntable, with the center spindle going through the hole in the mat. A turntable spins a platter at a constant rate, which is fine for just listening to music, but if you intend to scratch or even beatmatch records, you need to make adjustments to the record and have the record return instantly to playing normally, not to mention that you don't want to fight the turntable motor driving the platter to stop the record. So, you use a slipmat that goes between the record and platter, and when you press on the record, the record stops spinning while the platter remains spinning at a constant rate. Scratch it, hold it, cue it, whatever, and when you're done, release the record, and the record will begin spinning in sync with the platter again.

If you're just listening to records, you want a rubber mat that will prevent slipping, but to DJ, you need slipmats.

Now, exactly why you'd need a slipmat on a stationary DJ Hero faux-turntable? Beats me.

Eh, not preordering this. Free songs from Gamestop that will still be available for purchase, and as for Best Buy's Daft Punk level unlock? I'm betting it will be unlockable in the game itself, seeing as they're featured and everything. Everything else is just some store credit I don't need. If there are good reviews, I might ask for it for Christmas, but if not, I'll pass.

By the way is there a wallpaper version of that picture? I've been looking fiercely for one.

Nevermind. I went to the official site and found the creepily huge version where when I blew it up to it's full size a huge ass robot fucking took over my browser.

Big pictures are frightening.

Well this stuff is a little late in the game to announce. Doesn't matter though since I preordered from Sears. Thanks to coupon codes, I have it for $101.93 shipped.

I really wanna buy it, but it needs some Dre first. Its a massive gaping hole in the track list. I need a guarantee on that, to guarantee my purchase.

I was hoping that maybe with the whole rooster hat precedent... maybe just maybe. Daft Punk Helmets.

If they offered a bundle pack that came with Daft Punk helmets I would buy it on the spot even though I have no interest in DJ Hero.
