DJ Hero Renegade Edition will run you $199.99 photo

The recently announced DJ Hero Renegade Edition looks pretty sweet, no doubt.

Not only do you get the game and a special edition turntable controller (normally $129.99, sans fancy-looking controller), but you also get: a case that turns into a turntable stand, and a Jay-Z and Eminem 2-CD pack featuring unreleased tracks. While Activision hasn't announced pricing, Activision seems to think all of those extras are worth an extra -- are you sitting down? -- $70.

Yes, both Amazon and GameStop are listing the DJ Hero Renegade Edition for a cool $199.99. Ouch.

[Thanks, DemonPR]

I think I'll skip it after I saw a "Beastie Boys vs Queen" mashup on a Gamestop poster.

Wonder why Activision thinks they can charge ridiculous amounts for all of there product....oh right, we're stupid enough to buy it.

If the game gets good reviews I'd pay $200 for a metal turntable and case.

if i was sure that no other dj hero game will come this year or the next maybe it'll be worth paying 200 bucks for a "special" edition, but since activision likes whoring their "Hero" franchise so much i can't trust them anymore with my money, maybe i'll get it in a few months off ebay on the cheap lol

I really hope DJ hero and the new Tony Hawk fail. Activision needs a fucking reality check.

The thing that drives me crazy is that the premium controller's finish looks really nice, but I could care less about Eminem/Jay-Z, and chances are good I'll have some sort of table this could work on. If it was a second controller, I'd dive into this pretty quick, but for just one controller? Far too expensive.

After this, the heads at Activision are going to be able to afford diamonds on their already solid gold yachts.

Man, this gaming hobby just gets more expensive as the days pass.

No to this, no to Beatles Rock Band. Guess I'll have to stick to old fashioned controllers and motionplus tech.

See, I love mashup culture, but they have none of my favorite mashup DJs on this project. As soon as I here mention of DJ Lobsterdust or Aggro1" on here, I'm all over it, but seeing as Neversoft is too narrow-minded to realize that the whole world needs to hear Soundgarden's Jesus Christ Pose mashed up with the electro of Blue Stahli, this is not getting my money.

I might as well save for a couple of Technics 1200s and a mixer to go with it with real vinyls. :D

And now DJ hero joins the elusive $200+ new game w/peripheral market, alongside Steel Battalion.

Seriously? I love playing, but I don't want to make the equivalent of a monthly car payment to do so for just one game. It better come with groupies or a couple dime bags of cocaine at that price.

...for that kinda cash I could buy a USB mixer bundled with Traktor/PCDJ or some shit.

Keep it.

No wait, I'm sorry, I meant the opposite. The one that means the other thing. "No", I think.
