Special Editions may not be so special these days, but the Renegade Edition of DJ Hero certainly does its job well, which is to say it makes the regular package look kind of crappy by comparison. If you're at all serious about being a videogame DJ, here's what Renegade Edition comes with:
- DJ Hero game (I'd certainly hope so, right?)
- Renegade turntable controller featuring premium metal controls and finish
- Hardshell turntable carrying case that converts to performance-ready DJ stand
- Exclusive JAY-Z and EMINEM 2-CD pack featuring unreleased tracks and collectible case designed by artist Shepard Fairey
We weren't told how much this bundle will run for, but it will probably cost a lot (the standard DJ Hero is priced at $120) and you know what, the package doesn't even include night vision goggles. Don't tell me I'm the only one who wants to DJ the night away. How else am I going to see in the dark?

Jordan Devore is Destructoid's PC gaming manager and founding ginger editor. He is said to be easy to love but difficult to know. When Samit inquired about his curious bio photo Jordan simply replied:
"bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
What a jackass.
However, I'm really excited for this. And the Renegade edition is pretty badass. . .
While I was sort of hoping for more out of the special edition, I guess it gets the job done. If it does end up being roughly the same price as the MW2's prestige edition, there goes any interest in it.
Not at all mate, I'm totally up for it too.
While the metal looks nice from what I've seen and heard the standard controller/deck is very sturdy so not much added benefit really. I'm also sceptical if the CD will actually feature any tracks I haven't already heard by either of them so I won't be tempted by the special edition. Then again I'm never tempted by any special editions, they are only ever desired by the weirdo hoarder types with more money than sense*. I mean surely any nutcases that want to perv on people at night already have night vision goggles :P
*This does not apply to DVD's as they are not packaged with crap, instead adding features to further enhance your viewing experience. If games had deleted levels etc then we'll talk :)
I feel bad for the suckers who actually pay money for this bullshit.
fuck off.
This thing won't teach you a thing about the art of mixing if you just control pre scripted mashups of top 40 shit.
