DJ Hero, Assassin's Creed 2 Avatar clothes on Xbox Live photo

Really? DJ Hero? Really?

Another day, another batch of useless digital clothing that we're expected to pay good money for. In addition to a whole batch of DJ Hero stuff, you can now buy Assassin's Creed 2 gear as well. Great news for incredibly stupid people with too much money and not enougn brain cell!

Such items include Ezio and Altair costumes for AC2, and decks, record boxes and masks for DJ Hero. As ever, this stuff would be absolutely fantastic if it were free, but for 160 MS Points, Microsoft can shove that Jugglenort mask up its Jugglearse.

They made DJ Hero clothing and didn't make any Daft Punk helmets? What a wasted opportunity.

It's a shame they didn't combine the two and make Assassins Creed DJ Hero clothing.

*looks at the DJ Hero clothes, then looks at the achievements he unlocked in the game*

Man, you know what would have been sweet, avatar rewards. The fact that every time I log in and my avatar takes out the FREE Halo Monitor makes me smile.

Seriously, as much as I want the Altiar get-up, why not just give them as awards? Do the dev's just not know about this or something?

I'm still curious as to why MW2 didn't implement awards. Something other than self-satisfaction is nice when I beat it on Veteran.

It's looks like Microsoft just Sonyed themselves.

Here we have DJ Hero, a game pushing the Daft Punk thing like crazy, perfect opportunity to put up the Daft Punk helmets which I would have TOTALLY bought, and yet they don't do it.

Or maybe it's Activision's fault. Same difference.

Honestly, I don't see any difference between buying a digital shirt with a logo on it, or buying a real shirt with a logo on it. Both are free advertising for the respected company, that you willingly pay for.

Go buy another $30 Metallica shirt from a concert.

Don't buy avatar clothes, spend the money on downloadable songs for Rock Band.
Or DJ Hero, if you're into that sort of thing.

I'm so tempted on the Ezio costume, just because I think its such a well designed character (looks wise) but fuck paying $5 for that shit.

I can understand the mentality behind buying a useless altair costume, but to buy a t-shirt that's only got the logo for a game...thats bs and it should be free (much like gamer pictures) to market the game to people.

I would have actually bought the Daft Punk helmets if they made them. Your loss, MS.

Hey, you don't get to talk smack about DJ Hero. That game is actually awesome as hell.

Okay, this seriously needs to be made clear.. you cannot patch in avatar awards at this point. It would also be ridiculous to expect devs to go back now and patch things like AC1 to have awards just so that people who already own the game to replay it. Awards are to be used as incentive to by the game. Splosion Man has them patched in because they were promised from the start that they would be the first. Halo Waypoint came after and only truly has ODST and I assume it will have reach after that launches. Awards are not an easy process, especially at this early stage.

The costumes are actually some of the better Avatar items ever.

I'll say this again: Buying Avatar items renders your gamertag unloadable from a memory device on consoles that don't have the purchased content your avatar is wearing.

"Great news for incredibly stupid people with too much money and not enougn brain cell!"

Hey look, you can bitch and whine all you want about the cost of DLC or the selections provided, but to decide that people who HAVE the money to buy what they want are simply stupid with zero mental capacity indicates to me that you have no depth to your content.

Really? So I'm stupid because I can buy frivolity? I can buy FishBucks for my FishWorld and Altair clothing for my XBOX Avatar. My license plate on my built-not-bought Mazda is "BRB LOL" and all because I make the money I want and can spend it on what I want. That makes me stupid?

If intelligence were based someone else's' approval of an activity or action....well, we've already had to deal with the Nazi's so, figure what you will from it.

No, you aren't EXPECTED to buy it - you are allowed to buy it. If you don't care for it, think it's silly or are simply broke, then you don't HAVE to.

After all - gaming is still a luxury-consistent past time and you will find people buy what they want, when they want and when they can and need not be called stupid simply because you don't like it.

Sorry for bitching about it for so long, but your elitest wanna-blog was somehow in the first results of google returns while searching for Altair hoodies for my sister in college. Like an actual hoodie done Assassin's Creed 2 style. Because she wants one. And I can afford it. Whether you think it's stupid or not.
