DJ Hero 2 and Guitar Hero 6 demos available on Xbox Live photo

The Hero games are invading Xbox Live Marketplace, with demos available now for both the upcoming DJ Hero 2 and Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock.

The DJ Hero 2 demo will feature four mixes: Pussycat Dolls Featuring Busta Rhymes "Don't Cha" Mixed With Pitbull "I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)"; Lady Gaga Featuring Colby O'Donis "Just Dance" Mixed With Deadmau5 "Ghosts N Stuff"; MSTRKRFT Featuring N.O.R.E. "Bounce" (Battle Mix); and Estelle Featuring Kanye West "American Boy" Mixed With Chic "Good Times".

The Warriors of Rock demo will give players the first look at the game's "Quest Mode," a story mode narrated by KISS rocker Gene Simmons where you'll transform the game's characters into rock warriors to… kill a rock demon or something. I don't know. The demo will feature four tracks: Black Sabbath's "Children of the Grave," Foo Fighters' "No Way Back," Slash's "Ghosts" (featuring Ian Astbury), and Dethklok's "Bloodlines."

They're both available now for Xbox Live Gold members. Go get 'em.

So you have to pay for GOLD to get demos?

Really?

Wow.

@ Sc -The worst part is, you were able to get demos without a paid subscription at first. They took that feature away from the silver subscribers, in order to provide the illusion of an incentive for the gold.

Oh well. Business in the western world, amirite?

@epic-koryuken The difference between Power Gig and RB3 is you can also play with the regular 5-button shindig. You can enjoy the game fully without the MIDI guitar, and use the keyboard peripheral, which has a normal and Pro mode, which you can learn piano with as well.
And there's nothing wrong with getting excellent-er(??) at guitar.

Quick update on this -- news of the demo availability came straight from Activision, but at this time, only the Warriors of Rock demo is available from what I can tell. DJ Hero 2 should be arriving sometime today, so keep your eyes on the Marketplace.

I tried power gig... Do not want.

RB3 however has me far more interested than ANOTHER 5 button fake toy guitar game. I want RB3 so much more purely to learn 50+ songs where it basically hands me the entire tab, strum pattern, pacing, tuning, effects, and background track.

Plus you CAN play rb3 with the normal 5 button mode, FYI.

I'm pretty sure Silver can still download demos, they just can't get new ones until a week after it's available to Gold. Still stupid but you CAN download them.

Dude i know all about PSN+, I'm a subscriber. Getting the same demo's that regular free PSN users get a week or so early is a nice bouns and really doesn't hurt the free users.

Charging for EXTRA is all good, but charging for FREE and EXPECTED services (like online gaming) is just not cool. i can almost understand the charging for online (despite it all being P2P anyway!!!!) but to charge for access to demo's is just harsh.

What you just described is exactly how Xbox Live works. Keep that spin going though buddy.

I'll grab the DJ Hero 2 demo when I wake up then, looking forward to it.

*jerk off motion in the direction of GH6*

Well, at least I have the GH6 demo to play while I wait. Guess I can throw that in with the DLC reviews today too...call it a 'special guest'. If DJ Hero 2 shows up then fuck it, I'll do that one too!

Either way, I'm really hoping GH6 can continue the quality return to form that GH5 did. The quest mode sounds a little bit corny, but if the gameplay's there then I won't complain about another attempt to add story to a Guitar Hero game.

To get demos a week before Silver members yes. It's not like you need Gold to get any demo. For the first week Silver members are locked out.

Not justifying it, it's stupid as shit and I'm a Live supporter, but just clarifying.
