Now this is just awesome. A poster over on Nerf Haven took a Nerf Gun and a toy chainsaw and fused them together to create the famous chainsaw assault rifle from Gears of War. Forsaken_angel24, the creator of the mod, has a step-by-step guide on his forum post on Nerf Haven. Some of the process that went into this project is chronicled in the above video as well as some testing of the chainsaw on what I suspect is angel24's little brother. The mod is very impressive. He goes beyond just the cosmetic looks by adding LED lights and leaving the gun and chainsaw sounds effects still intact. Not too sure if the gun can actually still shoot, but the chainsaw "blades" still do spin. Now all Forsaken_angel24 has to do is get beefed up and take a ton of steroids so he can complete the Gears of War look in it's entirety. [Via Spitfire's C-Blog]

That's pretty awesome, but is there any reason to watch the whole video? I feel like I got the idea and stopped it about halfway through.
i'm not sure what was cooler: the gun or using it on your kid brother?
I know these guys and am a (semi)active member of that community for several years now. If I know anything about Forsaken_Angel, it shoots. The reason it's presented this way is to show the modders how he did all of that. It's really quite an impressive groups of people who can think of amazing things to do with nerf guns.

It's cool enough, but I mean, I feel like there are more productive uses of ones time. But this is coming from a person who is about to spend a three day weekend in front of a computer. Lancer FTW.
I just called my buddy who's an admin and he (as well as the thread on NH) said that not only it shoots, but shoots an accurate 100'.

I've been sorely tempted to build a Doomsayer like his, but now that I've seen this, I might have to try my hand at it. He took an otherwise worthless Nerf gun (Longshot is a real POS) and added a buttload of awesome.

I remember taking an Arrowstorm and putting darts into the barrels instead of putting arrows over them. It was a perfect fit, and those suckers would fly out of the gun fast enough to leave welts back when my brothers and I would have tactical basement deathmatches.

I have a little cardboard Lancer that I cut out of a box that my Gears of War themed carrying case came in.
.....I think I like it more than my carrying case. Just a little. :P

nice gun i agree but wtf was he doing at the end? why the hell would you look at the ground in the middle of a fire fight? it would be cooler if it still actually fired projectiles as well
I am glad you all enjoy it. I can assure you all, it still fires nerf darts but a different more accurate and farther shooting homemade dart we call the "Stefan dart" There is a write up on how I did that also at Nerfhaven. This thing gets on average around 100 feet.
