Disturbed offering new Rock Band DLC via Best Buy pre-order deal photo

Hey, do you like the metal band Disturbed? You know, that band whose singer makes weird screeching monkey noises in some of their songs? Yeah, me neither. But there's some pretty cool news for those of you who do.

Best Buy is offering a pretty slick Rock Band-related deal for the band's new album, Indestructible, which is set to hit stores on June 3. Pre-order the album online and you'll receive a download code for two Rock Band tracks, "Inside the Fire" and "Indestructible," both from the forthcoming album. No word on whether or not these tracks will be available through the Rock Band Music Store, though it seems like a fairly obvious move. (Note that the Best Buy site only appears to be offering the tracks for Xbox 360.)

This is the second time that a band has decided to make songs available for Rock Band prior to their commercial release; last month, Mötley Crüe's latest single, "Saints of Los Angeles," became available for just under a dollar. Whether or not you're fans of these bands is irrelevant -- it's just good to see that the music industry is taking notice of the game, and seeing it as a viable money-making and promotional opportunity.

Now bring on some new Shakira already.

This is a good idea for stuff in general, it'd be nice if some bands that weren't shit would do it sometime...

If these were completely free, I'd get them, but I have no desire to buy this CD in the first place, so no big deal.

Ahh, if only we could take advantage of this in good old Europe... Only a few more weeks to go before our wallets get shafted even more... And yes, I have pre-ordered and yes I feel dirty.. And yes, I like Disturbed... And yes, I like saying and yes... and yes, I am slightly drunk... Now where is my Hotpot?

Why is it that it seems that anyone on game sites has to flame anything thats metal unless it's Metallica? I highly doubt half of these game bloggers even listen to Metallica, but they're "classic" so they have to be cool. Right?

Not saying i don't like Metallica. I love them. One of my favorite bands.

I have one question though. What do all of you Gamers listen to? I've always listened to the metal, hard rock stuff but every time there is a release of a band like this for a game like Rock Band everyone has nothing but bad things to say. Then when they release tracks from 30 seconds to mars everyone is jumping around like it's Christmas.

Metal and hard rock i believe is the music that is lacking in games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band. The stuff thats actually hard to play and is more technical.

I still think that i liked GH1's track list the best. Pantera, BLS, Ozzy. It might not be your type of music but when you're trying to be a "Guitar Hero" you better be playing something that requires more than three fuckin cords.

@Kain

I love Disturbed. I listen to them and even see them in concert if I can. But what sucks for me is that it's now a trend (at least where I'm at) for pseudo intellectuals to say that Disturbed sucks. I have even been made fun of for listening to them by a girl who looks like she would cum at the sight of David Draiman.

When asking her what she would listen to, I hear retro bands such as Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, etc and Nine Inch Nails and she is so damn closed minded about it. I hear people all the time saying how they hate Disturbed, but they won't bother getting into what they are about. I'm sorry, but they make some damn good points and messages through their music.

Now, this will likely piss people off, but I'll say it anyway. Disturbed's music is much more meaningful than that of Led Zeppelin. Don't get me wrong. Plant is a wonderful vocalist, Page is a god to me and their music has touched me (then I had to call the cops) and they are one of my favorites. But for someone who views music as art, I can't pick favorites based on who's retro and who isn't. I'm too open minded for that bullshit.

Look, like whatever bands and artists you choose. I don't care. Just don't be a dick unless you're creatively trolling.

I agree. Ive always liked Disturbed. Not my FAV band but definitely very good. I was psyched when RB had the Haunted on there. Kick ass

But I wanna see more metal bands, and NOT metallica, metallica hasn't been metal since the early 90's and thats being nice.

How about Killswitch Engaged? As I Lay Dying? Dimmu Borgir? Fear Factory? Jesus the list goes on. Give us our metal songs Rock Band, and I will love thee

I like Disturbed and if it didn't appear that it's only for 360 I might've gone for it. I've mentioned a few times some bands I would like to see in RB and/or GH, but since the question was asked what do we listen to, here's a small list of the music I listen to the most:

Blind Guardian
Iced Earth
Demons & Wizards (thought I should get those 3 out of the way)
Evergrey
Persuader
Dark Empire
Savage Circus
Dimmu Borgir
ICP
Gorillaz
In Flames
Megadeth
Therion
Nevermore
Ayreon
Type O Negative
Sonata Arctica
Slipknot
Tool
Mushroomhead
Raintime

Theres more of course, and I don't like everything by any means, but I think we can all afford to be a little less judgemental about music.

Just so we're clear, my original post never flamed Disturbed. I'm not a fan of the band, but that doesn't a) mean I don't think they're talented musicians, b) think you're "stupid" if you listen to them, or c) think they're a bad fit for Rock Band.

I just want more Shakira.
