Distant Worlds: Music from Final Fantasy has new dates photo

The music from the Final Fantasy series is epic. Hearing the music played live by a full orchestra is even more so. Unfortunately full orchestras are very expensive and I know from experience that if you try to kidnap one it is also prohibitively expensive because you have to feed all of them enough to play their instruments well. Thankfully, there is the Distant Worlds: Music from Final Fantasy concert series so we may all experience the beauty of FF music without resorting to mass kidnapping.

Distant Worlds has been announcing its 2010 schedule and they just released the U.S. dates having already confirmed that they would be in Seoul Feb. 6 and 7, and in Stockholm on June 12. They will now also be arriving in San Francisco on July 15 and 16, San Diego on July 22, Wolftrap (DMV represent!) on July 30, and Ravinia, IL on Aug. 1. You can't get tickets to any of the U.S. shows yet, but if you're near Seoul or Stockholm you can head here to pick them up.

Wow. I would love to go listen to that, but unfortunately, being in the UK stops me from going. :(

I would love to see this, does it not visit the UK at all at any time?

I don't think it is in the UK at anytime. It isn't on ticketmaster anywhere xD

WTF do they have against new york. They'll have 2 shows in California in the same year, and not even 1 in new york. Fuck'em. I'm going to go cry in the bathtub while cutting myself.

Ah man, I looks like its going to be at Comic Con again and 4 day and single day Saturday passes are sold out.

I saw Dear Friends: Music From Final Fantasy in 05 and it was amazing (I also had the surprise pleasure of sitting next to Gabe and Tycho of PA). This news makes me a lot sadder than I was before that tickets are already gone.

Ugh, why can't they have a New York show? So annoying.

@NukaCola- Seconded. Seriously, I've never even heard of Ravinia, Il and they're going there instead of New York? Are there a bunch of nerdcore cows loaded with cash there that I don't know about?

I saw them when they were in Dallas last July, and is was without a doubt the best concert I've ever been to. Every song brought back memories from both the games and the times in my life when I was playing each game. I'm not traditionally a sentimental kind of guy, but I was teary eyed during most of that show. Every FF fan (and music lover) owes it to themselves to see it.

As a FF Freak and an orchestra player I must see it!

I'm with you on that Nuka, a NY show is a no brainer. What the hell is taking them so long

As much as I enjoyed going to video Games Live last spring this would obliterate that experience

I cried like a bitch at this.

The full symphony sound... the soundtrack to my childhood... the emotion was overwhelming. And I wasn't alone, EVERYONE had tears streaming down their face, especially come Cele's opera house scene as Maria. So incredible.

And Uematsu sat 4 chairs away, it was mind blowing! He was absorbing the crowd and loving the love, it was so gratifying to see him so happy about the music he made that makes everyone else happy.

If you can make these shows... you need to. It is absolutely amazing and likely to be a once in a lifetime experience.

@anyone bitching from New York:

Now you know how us Chicagolanders feel. We barely get anything these days, you coasters get all the good cons and the good shows, it's about time one of them came to us.
