After all the videos and screens of mostly naked, large chested, bikini clad Dead or Alive characters we've seen for Dead or Alive Paradise one wouldn't be blamed for thinking that they were basically getting some softcore porn for their PSP when the game lands. I say there is nothing wrong with that. Softcore porn for those who want it! And minature American flags for the rest!
However, the director behind DoA Paradise, Yoshinori Ueda, seems to be shying away from the porn tag. In fact he says they're making this game because they respect the beauty of women. "From our perspective, we're trying to make beautiful women, that has been the focus - we want our characters to be beautiful. The DOA characters are strong and that they look the way they do is based on trying to bring out the beauty of women," he told Eurogamer.
"We're certainly not trying to degrade women," he continued. "They have beautiful bodies. We're trying to show off the beauty of their bodies but we're not trying to be degrading about it -- we're trying to show that they are beautiful characters.
"It's not that we were trying to make softcore porn. That's definitely not the goal," he concluded.
Yea... it's softcore porn.

You just bring it up because you know hentai exists, but that's just unfair to the game and to the creators in my opinion. To be frank, it's stereotyping and once could say it's almost racist. I wouldn't call it that, but in a world where Jar-Jar and RE5 get called that, I would say this would pass the muster and is much closer to actually being it. Unless you run around calling Baywatch or FHM or any other American depiction of nearly naked women softcore pornography.
And before you say it, I don't even own a handheld console, so no I'm not a fan and I've only played DOA like once.

and by physical beauty i mean the kind of beauty that men are most attracted to...
and to emphasized that "beauty" we put them in incredibly scantily clad bikini's and have them place them in very sensual, and suggestive movements, strutting around showing off their stuff, and placing a lot of emphasis on breast/ass/crotch shots... And we are gonna use pre-existing characters and have them act completely out of character just so they can show off their beauty

Illusion, another Japanese game company, has been doing this for over a decade already. But at least they know they're doing porno games, and at least their games have they hardcore interactive sex we all know we want. Seriously...Sexy Beach 3 and @HomeMate...check them out.
