We already had an idea it was coming based on a teaser for next month's Game Informer, but now it's been confirmed -- Disney Interactive Entertainment will be revealing a new Mickey Mouse game in October.
While we don't have much info, members of the press have received word to save the date for a launch event that will reveal the a Mickey game. The teaser invitation says it will be the announcement of an "iconic new title," but offers no more information.
All signs point to this being Junction Point Studios' title, rumored to be called Epic Mickey, and headed up by legendary game designer Warren Spector. Sources and leaks indicate that the title would have Disney's mouse using paint to alter and navigate a world that (if concept art leaks are any indication of the final product) may have a steampunk vibe.
With this particular London-based reveal only a few weeks away, we hope to hear some fleshed-out details soon. And no, we don't know where the event is, and we probably wouldn't tell you anyhow. We wouldn't want to incur Mickey's wrath.

It should have been included on Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection.
I was very skeptical about "Epic Mickey" till I saw the concept art. I'm not a fan of Disney at all so a twisted corruption of it appeals to me. I guess that means I still couldn't stomach the game since it would doubtlessly be about Mickey changing everything back to how it "should" be. How do you play a game when you want the villain to win?
Hmm. So let's see, this game will probably be super easy, with more money dumped into art direction than story or gameplay, you know, so the kids will buy it.
You know, in kingdom hearts. Mickey was really sick and when you had the chance, really fun to play as. I would not mind the chance to play to kingdom hearts as mickey. or a 2d retro megaman 9 style with updated graphics.
