Disney entering the MMO market: Mickey Mouse roleplay sex in 5, 4, 3, 2 ... photo

As if the MMORPG scene wasn't already overcrowded, here comes Disney to exemplify the problem of the genre. Ladies and gentlemen, Disney Fantasy Online is on the way!

It's basically World of Warcraft but with Disney shoehorned into it, from the sounds of things. Players complete quests, level up, gain items, all that business. Established characters like Mickey Mouse and his anthropomorphic chums will appear as NPCs. Combat will actually represented with turn-based battles and players will be able to build their own castles.

MMOs will be getting just a little more stupid in Spring 2009.

Aren't they already in the market with Toon Town? And Pirates of the Caribbean Online? Granted both of those are very "Kid" oriented but MMO's nonetheless.

Not really "entering the market" if they already have an MMO out, is it?

I'm already laughing at the possibilities of what's gonna happen on this one.

Disney MMO dating going incredibly wrong in 5..4..3.

They already had an MMO that was pure Disney called The Virtual Magic Kingdom. And ya like everyone else is saying, Disney MMO's are nothing new.

As with the previous Disney MMO installments: this one makes me very, very scared deep down in my soul. :<

Toon Town has some pretty intense parental controls that prevents the cho-mos from getting at your kid's pooper.

If I still had one living with me, and she was interested in playing an online game, I might consider something like this.

I doubt this is supposed to be marketed at like, the Destructoid demographic.

Man, aren't they almost a decade late on this? Is Mickey Mouse even relevant anymore? Only the Internet-savvy can even find the actual cartoons these days or, well, anything that's not Kingdom Hearts.
