Disney Interactive has today shared first details on an upcoming Facebook game called Marvel: Avengers Alliancewhich is being developed by Playdom. The game has a sort of Pokemon feel to it with players having to collect Marvel heroes and villains, and then train said characters in order for them to gain new abilities and attacks.
Players will also be able to use something called "ISO-8" to further upgrade their pet super-humans and while no mention of what ISO-8 actually is was made, I have a feeling that acquiring the stuff may require credit cards. A rather interesting aspect of Avengers Alliance seems to be the inclusion of PvP, with players being able to fight each other with their own custom heroes and villains.
While it does sound interesting, if ISO-8 does in fact turn out to be a "buy your way into all the good stuff" method that many Facebook games have been doing since forever, some players might and will be turned off by it. Expect to see Marvel: Avengers Alliance sometime in Q1 of this year.
Nothing for nothing, and this isn't to defend most of these games that allow you to, as you put it, "buy your way into all the good stuff", but those games (facebook/social games -not F2P MMO's) are pretty much built on the fact that you have to pay to get really any where with it while hiding behind being "free for all". Its their entire plan.
Now if we were talking an MMO then it'd be a disaster, because the work you put into those games is what normally gives you the really good stuff, not usually the other way around. And if thats the case then you mine as well just pay $15 a month for a subscription.
Either way, if this were to turn out anything remotely like the Dragon Age one, I'd play it a little. Didn't put a dime into that game but it still helped me passed some time here and there when I was bored.
A woman who contacted me because of something I wrote a few years back about fluoride and autism causal dresses told me about her son’s hyperactivity from fluoridated water and her own much more tragic story which nearly rivals Aliss’ sad tale. She was poisoned when the public water system had a fluoride spill of an unknown amout of toxic fluoride due to a corroded pipe. Like trendy clothing Aliss, her whole life was profoundly altered and now, many years later, she remains so hypersensitive to fluoride that she cannot eat food grown using fluoridated water. If she drinks one glass of fluoridated water, her very intelligent brain turns to mush and even her kurtis language is severely impaired. Like Aliss she has very serious thyroid problems and chronic arthritic-like pain. Being a chronically ill single parent with an autistic child and no help from the state whatsoever, she must work through the pain to keep a roof collection 2012 over bridal dresses 2012 their heads.
