Destructoid and a number of other outlets praised the game despite its flaws. Personally, I enjoyed the game so much that I imported Red Seeds Profile, the Japanese PS3 version of the title.
I can't see Disney giving much of a damn about catering to a niche audience, though. I hope I'm wrong and that Ignition continue to put out these great, off-beat gems, but I'm certainly not going to hold my breath.
@jimbox: try it, go against the grain man.
Having just played the game I can say that it has its flaws (repetitive music and gameplay elements, which were my biggest problem with it), but its a damn good game. Considering it was supposed to be a PS2/xbox release in the first place, the fact that it survived at all and still managed to be pretty enjoyable is amazing. The big draw to the game is that its got a pretty decent -if off the wall- story, and lots of crazy side quests to do.
Plus, you can get it for $20 or cheaper, I got mine for 12 on Amazon through a sale.. And to me was worth it.

Good to hear they've been acquired (though is it weird that it seems like its taken months for this to happen? guess not, business being slow sometimes, and all.) but I hope Disney allows them to keep doing what they're doing for the most part. I'm okay with disney imposing that they do something for them every once in a while, but I don't want it to stop them from bring us some gems that no one would really think to play otherwise.
Besides, they released Little Mermaid and Gargoyles! They also own Miramax! Jay and Silent Bob's film appearances were released on the House of Mouse's dollar!
They are not as permissive as the likes of Sony Pictures can be with their animated fare but they aren't quite as prudish and over-bearing as people give them discredit for being.
