Disgaea 2 PSP getting free DLC thanks to error messages photo

Disgaea 2 is out for PSP, but its launch has been less than smooth. In fact, the game has been setting off unnecessary alarm bells with an erroneous error message that is tell players their saved games won't be compatible with any DLC. Fortunately, those who panicked will be rewarded, with NIS offering free content by way of an apology.

It goes down like this: Gamers were getting bizarre error messages while saving their games, pumping hours into the strategy RPG only to be told that, "If you save now, your save data will be saved in the state in which you cannot use the DLC." The DLC for Disgaea 2 hasn't even been released yet, but players were obviously worried that they'd just been screwed over for future content.

Luckily, it's a false alarm. The error message is supposed to be for games that have DLC loaded into them, but are being saved on a memory stick that lacks the corresponding content. NIS has looked into the issue and discovered that the warning is harmless and won't affect a save file's ability to use extra content.

However, as a way of saying sorry for the confusion, NIS has revealed that the game's very first DLC pack will now be completely free! It will include Disgaea 3's Sapphire, and will launch November 25. Until then, however, the error message will keep spamming you, so be patient and wait for the freebie to fix everything.

Great! I was already planning on buying this (I'm a late bloomer when it comes to SRPGs). This makes the deal even more enticing.

Dude, Jim, check your spelling. You have one more "a" than you need. Also, I heard about this. I'm really looking forward to the DLC, and am happy to hear at least one character is free.

I was going to make a crack about your spelling too, but 2 already beat me to it.

This is good news for PSP owners. I'm interested in Disgaea but not in Sony's handheld.

Ever since the original was both
A. Hard to find and
B. Overpriced--even used (sometimes higher than the MSRP) it's a SRPG franchise that unfortunately I won't be able to get into story-wise.

I don't know how the fuck that happened. I have never spelled that game's name wrong in all the years I've written it. I put it down to writing at 4am.
