Discs of Tron on XBLA this Wednesday

Just one lonely Xbox Live Arcade title has been announced for next week: Discs of Tron (400 Microsoft Points). You're probably having déjà vu at this point -- that's because this will actually be the second Tron game to hit XBLA.

While Discs of Tron may be nostalgic and enticing for some, tweaked audio and visuals aren't nearly enough to make me want to play this "arcade classic."

But should you be looking forward to Discs of Tron, you may be pleased to know that Backbone Entertainment included co-op and versus modes -- something that wasn't available in the original version of the game.

Who knows, maybe another Live Arcade game will be announced for next Wednesday (it's happened before). If not, things are looking mighty bleak for Topher.

To be fair, discs of tron is by far a better arcade game.

What's with all this Tophler bashing lately? Was it something he said?

Hopefully it's a better conversion than the other Tron arcade game. The audio was waaaaay screwed-up on that one.

Bashing? It's a well known fact that he's tired of these lackluster ports.

I'm just saying it sucks that we have all of these great games lined up for XBLA, but we're getting old arcade games instead.

Fuck that. After playing Tron, I think nostalgia should be left where it is: in the past.

Don't get me wrong, back in the day I thought Tron was the shiz. But after playing it on XBLA, I realized that as time marched on, my taste in gaming has matured.

Its the same way as, say, after you graduate from college Kraft macaroni and cheese with tuna tastes like ass.

I remember playing this at the cinema one day. As a kid. Does that sound right?

I'm pretty sure Co-Op/Versus mode is going to be the same as Tron on XBLA, where you watch the other person play on a side screen while you play on a different cabinet yourself. The only difference would be that the points in Co-Op mode go together and Versus don't.
