Discountoid: We'll call this the

Just because the biggest shopping day of the year is right around the corner, doesn't mean that the retailers aren't fighting for your dollars during the rest of the week.

Target, in particular, has come out swinging. Several recent releases for PS2 and DS are getting some very nice discounts. In addition, there are several Gift Card opportunities on the table for Left 4 Dead and Rock Band 2.

Does the Rock Band 2 deal count if you buy the bundle with the instruments packed in?

Bionic Commando [360/PS3] - Exclusive patch set with pre-orde

I hope that is an exclusive item. If not are they shipping the game broken?

@DJP3DRO - From all appearances, the Rock Band 2 deal is specific to the disc-only version of the game.

@Vengeful Penor - They're iron-on patches, I believe, with logos from both the original and new versions of Bionic Commando

I gotta second the nod to Black. I played the Xbox version and it's a solid 7/10.

...aw man, I need tazarthayoot to explain it for me too.

Guess that's what you get when you don't read the whole sentence.

@tazar - Oh, I got it. It was clever. I just thought it would be worth mentioning what little details I had on the patches themselves.

There is a Final Fantasy II for DS? I'm guessing that means $5 off used copies of III, since I'm pretty sure IV wouldn't be that cheap there...

Also I've always wanted to get Black for XBox cheap, but after using my PC so much for the last couple years, I'm finding certain kinds of last gen 3D console games VERY hard to play now with their low resolutions and FOV's. I went back to play Metroid Prime some and it was really hard to do, though I'm not totally sure why.

@wedge

They might mean FF II for the PSP as that seems rather cheap anyways now

@Wedge: No, it's Final Fantasy III. It's hard to read those ads sometimes and, well, with the number of remakes of Final Fantasy, you can understand how I could naturally assume that II had been released on DS. Sorry about that and thanks for noticing.
