Even though I've been violently ill today, I did manage to get Pure and SH: Homecoming for $20 from the BB deal, so it's all good.
I'm pissed. My rommate and I went to BOTH Best Buys in our area today and they were completely sold out of Pure at both stores. I got SCIV, so not all was lost, but we were both really looking forward to Pure AND the dude there told us it's being discontinued at all BBs, so they won't even get more in and it can't be ordered on their website. So mad.
I have now been to 3 best buys, and called a few more, and I have yielded NO reaults at all, I had hoped for Silent HIll but I guess I can hope for a miracle shipment.
My local Best Buy was cleared out also, but I swung by a couple of days ago, grabbed Overlord and Operation Darkness at their previous price and then went back this morning to have them give me back the difference.
Sometimes checking Blockbuster Video is sometimes a gold mine for new games for cheap. I just picked up Warioland Shake It sealed for $20 and they also had De Blob for the same price this past week. But what made me crap my self was getting Rock Band Special Edition for $54.99 for the 360.

If your local Best Buy ran out of the games you want, take their ad over to Wal-Mart! They graciously price matched the ad for me and I walked out the door with copies of SCIV, Infinite Undiscovery, and Devil May Cry 4!
I grabbed a bunch of stuff @ BB today- got fracture, 007 t shirt pack, ferrari challenge, lost planet, they were also closing out folklore for 15 bucks so I grabbed a copy while I was there + a few 360 and wii games for gifts for people

I made out like a bandit at BB. Pure was definitely a good snag for $10. The rest I just sort of got on a whim because, let's face it, that was a hell of a sale.

You come up with a better way to prevent theft of video games in a retail store, and I'll be sure to let the higher ups know.
Listen, you assholes, the whole point of opening the celophane of a fucking game is to make sure that the games don't get stolen off the floor. If you left a game case, sealed contents still within, on the retail floor of ANY retail store, you would see it get stolen almost immediately. To try to prevent shrink, chains like FYE, Gamestop and others take the games out of the package and display the game case on the floor. It has to be done this way, otherwise there would be an extremely huge amount of shrink for these stores.
Until you come up with a better solution, or cure the world of all evil and malcontent people, you need to stop bitching about the fact that your game was sold to you like it was a fucking bootleg.

Just a heads up if anyone's in a Gamestop over the next week or so: They have Guitar Hero:Aerosmith on 360 for $10. What they DON'T tell you is that there's also a promo running underneath that where if you buy Aerosmith on 360 you get a free wired guitar.
So to sum up. Gamestop. GH:Aerosmith and a wired guitar. $10. while supplies last of course.

@ Tazar: Best Buy and Wal-Mart have perfectly acceptable solutions to prevent this... Cases that have to be unlocked at the register, security tags, etc... Places like Gamespot could keep one display case on the shelf and store the rest of the sealed games in the back. Selling an opened product for new price is a shitty practice, no matter what their excuse. They could easily come up with other methods to prevent shrink. That's why I won't buy new games from them anymore.
Also, I thought Spider-Man: Web of Shadows was permanently marked to $30... got it at Best Buy earlier this week, and didn't recall seeing it as a sale. Even got the little art book too.

There are a bunch of ps2 games on clearance right now at Target as well, Kingdom Hearts II is like $13. There was some 360 and a few ps3 games as well.
Gamestop could just photocopy the jacket and put it in a spare DVD case, or put out cards on the shelves that you have to take to the register to buy it. I remember Toys 'R' Us used to go with the "take this card to the register" method, and nobody had a problem with that.
If youre in Australia, GAME has a sale on right now. I managed to pick up Mad World for $60 which is prety good, conisdering it only came out a few weeks ago.
