Discountoid: F.E.A.R. 2, Overlord, Spongebob and more photo

It's Sunday morning at Dtoid HQ and we're all a little worse for wear. Just because I'm bleary-eyed does not mean I can't still sniff out a bargain, though.

So what are the deals this week? Gamestop seems to be pushing Spongebob and Resident Evil, which is a pretty strange combination for an ad circular. If you're willing to trade in a couple of games from their list, however, you can score $40 off of a purchase of Resident Evil 5. Target and Best Buy have disappointing offers, if any. And Amazon has a number of decently marked down games to choose from.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go and try to eat this hangover away. Feel free to talk about what games you're interested in picking up this week. Or the STDs you already grabbed from a weekend of partying. Whatever.

Don't forget everyone, Unreal Tournament III Black is on sale for $11.99 on Steam until March 22nd. Personally I'll be picking that up sometime this afternoon or evening.

I can't figure out if that Resident Evil 5 trade-in deal still gets you money for your trade-ins, or if their value just goes into the $40 discount. Does anyone know?

How come mexican retailers never have deals? Hell some games go up in price months after release

@ unassuming local guy

Trading in 2 games from that list gives you 40 in RE5 credit. Their value is turned into the discount, so in most cases you'll make some money, because a lot of those games are worth less than 20 for a trade in.

I actually have 5 games on that list but wouldn't trade in any of them. I'll just wait a couple weeks and get RE5 on Ebay for like 20$ or more off. It's what I did for Fallout 3. Brand new sealed game with free shipping and a discount? How could you lose?

That RE5 trade-in offer has a surprising list of games -- surprising in that, I wasn't expecting so many games to be on there. Still, I only own one game on that list that I'd be willing to part with, and I'm not dying to play RE5.

lol @ RE: Outbreak

Too bad the servers are shut down.

The single play isn't that bad. If only you could LAN the game.

It's a bit odd not seeing Circuit City there anymore :/
As much as I hated it, less competition is never a good thing.

@Trojanman88: It feels odd to me too, no less because of my prior work experience with them. They may have been poorly managed from the top, but I really liked that company.
