Discountoid: DS games galore, Persona 3 and so much more! photo

It's a good week to be a DS fan.

I do believe it is time for another edition of Discountoid. GameStop and Best Buy both have a truckload of DS games on sale this week. The former has placed their focus on Ubisoft's library, while the latter has most of those and a few other tasty treats as well.

Also, turn your attention to Amazon this week if you haven't picked up Persona 3: FES yet. They currently have the limited edition with soundtrack on offer for almost half off their regular price. And while you're buying PS2 games, I'd recommend snagging Metal Slug Anthology for less than eighteen smackers.

All the deals come, as usual, after the jump.

Dammit video games, why must you be so expensive?

And dammit, Conrad, why must you tempt me!

Thanks for the Persona 3 tip. I'd kicking around the idea of getting it for awhile, but this deal made it too good to pass up.

Ah, too bad I bought P3FES last weekend, but I still got it for less. No soundtrack, but hey. =P

thinking chrono trigger and dragon quest iv are looking good. damnit if i don't already have enough unfinished DS rpgs to keep me in game till 2013.

also, you should be a fixture on retroforce go! this past show was just a little less happy, and a lot more listenable.

For anyone insterested in Bioshock (PS3) for $20, here is the 2K-Games coupon link:

http://www.2kgames.com/coupon/

With BestBuy's price drop and the coupon it's an unbeatable deal.

P3 for 25 bucks on amazon... tempting, but I have so much on my gaming plate already, hell, I'm still playing P4! I will pick up Metal Slug Anthology though.

Gamestop has both the regular and premier editions of Red Alert 3 on PC for 29.99, which is even cheaper than getting it at Best Buy. However, it looks like the premier edition is sold out online, but some stores still have it in stock.

I think that noting when PSN XBLA and iTouch/Phone titles go on sale (for below the normal price) would be a welcome edition to this series. I tend to notice when iPhone apps go on sale they tend to be very very cheap. ($.99 games? yep) Also: I dunno when and if XBLA has sales, but I did notice PSN pushing some cheap ass titles around the holidays. Another note: Conrad. I appreciated the Anime more than the pictures of real girls. Sometimes I wonder about your motivations for posting pictures of these women.

Chrono Trigger for the normal DS price of $30? Sounds like I might actually stop in Best Buy again, much against my past claims/wishes.

Little Red Riding Hood's Zombie BBQ is $15 at Gamestop. At least, the one in Owings Mills, MD has it.

Thanks for the tip on P3, just ordered it. I've been lamenting getting it for over a year now. Even though it'll be hard to find time to play it, at least I'll know that I will have it in case I find time to play another rpg. Another rpg added to my huge backlog of rpgs that will easily last me for 2 years.

No version of P3: FES had a soundtrack. That's just the standard version of FES; it's just the game folks.

Everyone should buy FES, its one of the best RPG's around and you get hours and hours of entertainment for that price.

Then buy Persona 4 as well :D

Well, there are two listings on Amazon for Persona 3: FES. The one linked in the post is described as having a soundtrack CD and artbook. A cursory search of the interwebs brought this to my attention as well:

I could be wrong, but that looks to be a limited edition with a soundtrack cd.

Correction:

Gamestop is selling Final Fantasy III for the DS for $9.99, not Final Fantasy II. FFII isn't even available on the DS.

You can see this in the full-size PDF of their ad.

Thanks for heads up on bioshock for $30, just picked it up.

@Dinnertimeninja- thanks for heads up, I tried to use the 10 dollars off, but was told they wouldn't accept it, oh well, 30 dollars is still a good deal

That's the regular Persona 3 Conrad, it came with the book and soundtrack, it wasn't a special edition.

Persona 3 FES is the expanded Persona 3, its got some extra content, new personas, new cutscenes, there's no reason buy the normal Persona 3 when FES is available.

for those confused, amazon is selling P3:FES with the limited art book and soundtrack that came with the standard edition. it's cleared up in the amazon reviews.

There's an Amazon exclusive repack of FES that comes with the art book and soundtrack of the original. It's the one I ordered --- Sold my FES and bought the collector's one.

Damn, I just checked the forums at cheapassgamer.com and that 2K coupon for Bioshock isn't accepted at BestBuy.

It's still possible to get the deal though if you take the BB ad to someplace like Walmart that price matches and then use the coupon.

Damn BestBuy. That coupon is accepted frickin' everywhere but there.

@Everyone talking about Persona:

Thanks for clearing up the confusion guys, I appreciate it.

As a side note, for whatever reason, the link to the amazon page refuses to come up as anything except the basic package, so make sure you're ordering the special edition before you click that order button.

Final Fantasy 2 on DS? Is that the Final Fantasy IV on DS? If so, ten dollars is an AMAZING price for that.

I'm fucking buying it next trip into that wretched gamestop for ten dollars. And I don't even own a DS.

Apparently it's not everywhere, but I know here in Illinois (and a few other places around the country) Target is doing a Buy 2 Get 1 Free on ALL of their PS3 games, pretty much.

It's a very good deal, to be sure. I can finally pick up Little Big Planet and Uncharted!

Got that from CheapAssGamer, just to give credit where it's due.
