According to an article on Variety.com, long-time Hollywood director Dwight Little will be yelling "action," "cut," and "Kuma needs more make-up" on the set of the upcoming live-action Tekken film.
Little is no stranger to the action genre, having directed Steven Seagal in the classic film, Marked for Death. Other works of note include Anacondas 2, an episode of the short-lived Nightmare on Elm Street television spin-off Freddy's Nightmares, and Free Willy 2: The Adventure Home. It's this varied experience that should give Little the edge in bringing Namco's fighter to life on the big screen.
"The film plays out as a science fiction story set in the near future," Little told Daily Variety, "about a rebel who rises up against the Tekken Corp. to seize freedom for his people. It's a gladiator story, but the videogame has a complicated enough storyline to provide the template for a martial arts spectacular."
Now I'm not going to pretend like I could map out the overall arc of the Tekken storyline if my life depended on it. But does anyone know what the hell Little is talking about? Shooting on the Crystal Sky Pictures (Ghost Rider) begins February 4; maybe someone will figure it out by then.

I guess fighting games need a reason to pit a bunch of stylized people against each other.
Btw, Steven Seagal played at the university where I sometimes go for gigs. I couldn't believe it when they advertised him...
Should stop making films now though...FACT
==, sweet lord not another video game based movie. Ok SF became a mess, and so did tons of others (save Silent Hill & RE for trying something). But Tekken? its "story" is just a bevy of figthers ready to rumble for a tournament to prove who's the best. Why the fuck do you wanna mess with a simple premise?
great.. can already see Ogre & Devil Kazuya already.. blech i threw up in my mouth.
WHHHHHHHHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!??????
However this rumour of a tekken movie seems to pop up like clockwork every couple of years. The irony is I swear I've read that description about 10 times now, all being planned to be directed by different people.
IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN (thank god).
