Diablo III won't be the last Diablo game ever made photo

It may have been due to all the “too colorful” shenanigans, but no one has really been focusing on what Diablo III’s story will contain. Tracey John, Multiplayer’s man with two first names, apparently realized this himself, as he attempted to drag some information on that very subject from lead designer Jay Wilson.

Not wanting to provide spoilers, Wilson only gave a few vague details, stating that we can expect to see plenty of familiar faces from Diablo, Diablo II, and the Diablo novels.

“We also tried to focus a little more on bringing characters back, and not just from Diablo II but from Diablo I,” he said. “We feel like a lot of the focus is on Diablo II but Diablo I started it all and has a lot of really good stuff on the gameplay side and on the character side. So people can expect to see characters from Diablo I, more characters from Diablo II, and characters from some of the books. We’re definitely going to bring a few of them in.”

Wilson also adds that while Blizzard is trying their best to “bring this storyline to a close,” it won’t be the end of the Diablo franchise, as they’ve “got plans beyond.” So what sort of direction do you think Diablo might go in after III? Are there any time periods, characters, or infernal monsters you’d like future games to focus on?

I would say screw the children but that could just be taken so badly... well, unless they're hot ;)

Having not completed number II and not read the books, all I can say is so long as they make the beginning 10hours accessible and interesting is good enough for me. Still looking forwards to number III, colours and all....

Holy crap, bringing people back from Diablo I? Adria the witch perhaps? Ogden the tavern owner and his wife? Gillian the barmaid? I would love to see Farnham alive and well, drinking and stinking in some far off locale, rambling on and on about the terrible things he's seen.

you ahve to have a limit to the amount of races...because of course balance is always key. I agree i just want 3 to come out as soon as possible (but Finished by blizzard standards).

Does Diablo team up with Kerrigan?

I want to see a non human character class. I think it would be cool if they had one class that was like a tribe of demons that split off from Diablo for whatever reason and now want him dead. They could be disliked by npcs even more than necros were in DII.

Once again Blizzard enjoys making money and sequels to their games are a license to print it.

Why no sequel to Lost Vikings or Rock & Roll Racing? How about Blackthorne then. Just a nice follow up to Blackthorne.

I want Diablo to win, and to be able to play as a champion of diablo, a lesser demon, or even as one of the lords of hell themselves.

3 should be the last one...or at least the last one that plays like the first one. It's pretty obvious after watching their demo that they're almost completely creatively bankrupt (wow, health orbs!), artistically bankrupt (their games are starting to look and feel and play blended together). It's just not necessary. Think up something new and interesting, Blizzard. Stop cashing in on your 1990's success and start looking forward and not backward.
Unlike other companies, Blizzard doesn't have to worry about not being successful. Success is their middle name. Please don't turn into the Nintendo of PC gaming and change that middle name to CashCow.

id say Wirt will come back, maybe in ghost form or something. maybe giving you another seceret level or what not. i agree with Mav. Being a demon class or even being able to hire one would be pretty awesome. complete with demonhide armor and maybe we can even pick the skills your merc uses in this one??? Does anybody else get the vibe that Tyreall is going to be the bad guy in this one? with the prime evils dead and all. the world stone could have courupted him into being evil since the lead spot in hell is vacant. anywho just my wishful thinking.

Justin,

Thanks for posting! One thing though -- last time I checked, I'm a woman with two first names. ;)

Thanks again!

How about Enchanted Hasidic Rabbi who casts dark magic Cabala spells. Then invests your gold for you.
