In news that is sure to make complaining purist Diablo fans happy, it has been confirmed that Diabo III's art director, Brian Morrisroe has resigned from Blizzard. He is the man responsible for spearheading Diablo III's current visual style, which caused controversy when a bunch of pathetic spoiled brats complained that the game was far too beautiful for a Diablo game. Also it had too many rainbows.
Blizzard had this to say to MTV Multiplayer when they asked about Blizzard's new job opening. It also contained bad news for those aforementioned bitchy brats:
Regarding Brian, he recently resigned to form a startup technology company (outside the game industry), which is why we’ve posted about the open position. This change won’t impact the game…we’re really pleased with the look and feel that Brian helped create for Diablo III, and the new person we bring onboard will work with the other artists on the team to maintain the art style moving forward.
Good luck to Brian, who has won my heartfelt respect for indirectly helping to show just how ridiculous some self-styled "fans" of a videogame can be and for creating some really pretty rainbows. Good on Blizzard for sticking to its artistic guns, too.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
mmmmm rainbows
If the game is good, then who cares if it was too cartoony. Just play the damn game and if you don't like it then don't buy it.
ya...
There's really no such thing as being a "Blizzard Fan" because the guys that you were a fan of before don't work there anymore. It's gonna bite them in the arse one of these days. Actually, it was biting them a little till they hit it huge with WoW.
Eat a dick. Nothing is gonna change, and that's a good thing.
Can't wait to clickity-click til my fingers fall off.
Ah, one last look won't hurt.
Gee, it's a shame there wasn't some way to change the textures in a PC game... to.... modify them in some way...
Oh wait.
Good luck to him and give me diablo 3!!!
If Blizzard wanted a darker tone in D3 in response to the complaints all they'd really have to do is tweak a few light settings.
What is this post about ? oh yeah skittles.
Thanks for the rainbows, I was starting to feel the pangs of hunger. You get a gold star.
The guy who laid the smack down on the photoshopped images was Jay Wilson, the lead designer.
