I know you and your little pirate friends are upset that you can't leech this game, but really a lot of people have internet access now and won't have any problem buying D3.

The beta wasn't bad, nothing amazing but a ton better than all the Diablo clones since D2 like Torchlight. Im sorry but Torchlight had no soul, it got boring incredibly fast due to the lame combat.
It's not so much that is the issue is piracy, it's the fact that you have to be online to play a SINGLE player game. Also, no amount of DRM could protect a game from being pirated. Ever.

Diablo single player was, lets face it, fairly boring. The fun of the game was in completing missions and growing characters alongside your friends. Borderlands is kinda the same way--not much fun playing by yourself. Fun, yes, but not much.

Gameplay like diablo seems to me to lack much interest. click ground, click beast, click loot, repeat for hours.
As a game mechanic, it has little appeal for me anymore. When Diablo first came out it was novel and new, now it's...prettier....
It will sell like hotcakes, but in the end, I don't think it will satisfy a real compelling game memory.

Well, they did use the game as a way to rope people into agreeing to pay for a years worth or WoW since, what (?) last September/October? so it stands to reason they can't keep those people waiting all that much longer.
However I don't think they're going to just dump it in our laps like that, there's only like.. 21 days till Feb first. Theres no time to get a solid marketing campaign going, even for a game thats (at least should be) as huge as this would be.
