Capcom has nothing to cry about with the Devil May Cry franchise (I made a funny joke), because the ludicrous action series has just recently shipped its 10 millionth copy. Hurray!
The most recent of the games, Devil May Cry 4, accounts for 2.2 million of that figure, but Capcom isn't sharing details of any of the other games. It's also worth pointing out that the announcement concerns shipments, not sales, as some are reporting. Capcom was quick to note that DMC 4 achieved its numbers "despite being released early in the life cycle of the current generation of systems." Capcom is just showing off.
As a big fan of the Devil May Cry series, this makes me happy, as does Capcom's promise that "more franchise-related products" are on the way. DMC 4 wasn't quite as good as its predecessor, but was still a fun ride, and I hope we see plenty more of gaming's most flamboyantly stupid action series soon.

Jim, you like Devil May Cry for the exact same reasons I do.
And yeah, DMC4 was awesome.. but it wasnt nearly as awesome as 3. But I really want a 5th installment of the series, perhaps sans-Nero or with him in a lesser role however.
Top series.
If they remade 3 on the PS3 like "NG Sigma", I'd be all over that. I beat 3 like 10 times.
Just 10?
I really enjoyed DMC4, as said above though DMC2 reigns supreme as the best of the series in my opinion. Nero does need to bugger off for the next one, there was only so much of his emo whining I could take.
Oh, I hope Capcom reveals details of number five at E3, or at least soon.
--It did sort of open the door for styles, there are traces of the 'Trickster' style found in 2.
--It had a badass looking Dante, like, if Dante ever finally stopped being silly and acted serious.
I really enjoyed the original the most To be fair, I haven't played 4 yet (though I intend too soon... or Ninja Gaiden 2) so we'll see if that sticks.
