@epic: shut your lips. 3 se was fantastic. Best in series imo. 2, now that's a pile. I pretend that weird ladies disc doesn't exist, but dantes isn't loads better. Can't wait for this. Gonna tear through 1 and 3 again. Plus the Vergil stuff in 3. Hnnnnnng

@Epic: We are so over. I've honestly never finished 2 which I plan on doing with this. Hopefully ill see what you see. I really hated it when it came out, played her disc for a half hour and dantes a few more. Went back and played 1 over and over. 3 however I adore. Got all S's on everything, unlocked everything and still replayed it up till a couple of years ago. Different strokes for different boners and such.
If you missed out on 3, this is your chance to play what may be the best technical action game of all time.

This year I've purchased Simpsons Arcade HD, Jak and Daxter HD Collection, Sega Mega Drive Collection HD, and will soon eventually pick up Rayman 3 HD, Silent Hill HD Collection, Devil May Cry HD Collection, Zone of the Enders HD Collection, Jet Set Radio HD, and whatever else is thrown at us.
I'm also waiting for a Ratchet & Clank HD Collection, Kingdom Hearts HD Collection, Grand Theft Auto HD Collection, Max Payne HD Collection and others if the developers will make them.

But yeah. Anyway, yes! Looks awesome! Possibly Day 1 purchase (as long as Capcom gives this a better treatment than Resident Evil 4 HD). Looks great though.
I still count Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne as DMC2.

Now THAT'S the HD collection I've been waiting for! DMC3 is one of my favorite games of all time. I will pick this up on principle.

HD collections seem to have this unwritten rule that they only include 2-3 games. MGS bucked the trend with a PSN code for the MGS PsOne classic on top of three games.
If The Legacy of Kain HD pack went by this same code, they'd have to leave out one game -- I'd choose Defiance over any of the others.

Devil May Cry 2 was so fucking retarded. Bosses weren't even hard, they just took a ridiculous amount of time to kill on DMD mode. It was more about how long you could roll about like a fucking monkey shooting grenades and submachine guns rather than evading and counterattacking. The grimdark approach was stupid as well.
The monster and boss designs were really crap as well. One of the recurring bosses was a zombie helicopter, IIRC. Another boss was jut a big blob with other bosses heads poking out of it. Fucking shit game. Yes, I'm still mad.

As someone who considers DMC3 as the greatest action game of all time, I cannot bring myself to enjoy 1. After all the advancements that DMC 3 made it's hard to go back.

Oh man, this will be amazing. If the original game has revamped controls, that would be incredible. Even DMC2 would be worth a go just to see the free-running trickster abilities in smooth HD.
The real gem is DMC3, though, with some of the most refined, precise action mechanics in any 3D game to date. While DMC4 offered some huge additions in the terms of scope of what's possible, DMC3 vastly surpasses it as "the whole package" experience. I'm really excited to compare the segmented but robust play styled of DMC3 to the free-switching but simplified styles of DMC4.
I have at least 400 hours into the third game alone, and I won't have any problems adding to it with this collection.

Its just too bad I have no faith in Silicon Knights any more, and Crystal Dynamics is now owned by Square Enix, which (even though the Eidos games have been fairly great) places the quality we could see in between the lines of a few thousand question marks, along side the fact that we'd probably have to wait many years for them to get the project done.

I'll be getting this mostly because I liked DMC 4 and never got around to playing the ones on the PS2.
I can't wait to replay these, even 2. I see 2 as a relaxing break from the difficulty of the rest of the series.
I'm definitely interested. I haven't actually played 2, so I'm not going to make any judgement on that just yet, but 1 was good, and 3 was a amazing.

For those wondering, Capcom confirmed that they fixed the controller setup for DMC1 to reflect the way the other games have it. They found it odd that the jump and attack buttons were switched for the Western release when it has stayed consistent through the rest of the series.
It may not make the first game the technical trickster that DMC3 is, but it should help people who can't quite snap out of being able to change buttons.
