Developers give away 45,000 copies of Natural Selection 2

Freebies for those who pre-ordered early

Serious props are in order for Unknown Worlds Entertainment. The small studio behind the very big Natural Selection 2 has something special for everyone who pre-ordered the game prior to it appearing on Steam: a free upgrade to the Digital Deluxe Edition and a giftable copy of the Standard Edition.

In their own words, "we gave away forty-five thousand full copies of Natural Selection 2." If you are fortunate enough to be on the receiving end of this rather brilliant move -- a game like this needs a strong player base, after all -- then check your Steam gift inventory for the freebie. Spread the joy!

Unknown Worlds hasn't yet pinned down an exact release date for NS2, but the team has narrowed it down to the month of October. "As we clear some final hurdles over the next few weeks, we will nail that down to a specific day."
