Here's a new viral marketing video for Deus Ex: Human Revolution which features the company making mankind better through augmentations, Sarif Industries. This time, instead of just seeing these actors make use of their new cybernetic enhancements, we get to hear them speak in their own words as written for them by the good people at Sarif Industries.
I'm loving this part of the marketing. These are the sort of adverts I would expect to see from a company like Sarif if it existed, painting a picture of a bright future with all perfect lines and beautiful people, while the world goes to Hell at street level. Keep this stuff coming, Square Enix, because I am eating it up.
I think this trailer was done pretty well. A bit cheesy but somewhat convincing in the universe of the game at least. I really can't wait to see if they stick this in the game for shits and giggles. I also really hope to play the game. Seems like a semi-return to form for the series(imho).
ehh it was okay, it's one of those generic viral campaigns you see even in in-games. heck i remember Dead Space, Half Life having these ads on the monitor screen.
still the game is gonna be mad hype, don't need a viral campaign. getting this Day 1 Limited Edition of course :P
I'm with 32BitSin, I can imagine your character walking into a bar with this commercial playing on a screen along with some guy in the corner muttering "What a load of bull..." as he slings back a drink with a ragged cyber arm.
I like the cheesiness of it. It helps as a world building tool to show how Sarif Industries wants people to see them, versus what I'm sure will be a much darker reality (this is a Deus Ex game after all).
That said, I would love to have cybernetic eyes. Something appealing about being able to see more of the world in a greater scope.
Incredible world building. I really hope the game lives up to this and delivers on the story front. World-building in games can be hard to do convincingly in more linear stuff like this.
And that music is suitably Blade Runner, very reminiscent of "Memories of Green".
[Update: Square Enix has informed us that the PS3 version will utilize Vita touchscreen support, and the 360 version will use Smartglass.]
