I totally look forward to watching a linear movie about a game series that revolutionized the concept of choice in games.
..Why would they make a game like deus ex into a movie, considering it's about choice? Does that not rob the main draw of the narrative?

At least this is a property that can easily be imagined as a movie. It will be a generic dystopian future movie, as everything that makes Deus Ex original is in the gameplay, but at least it can be easily seen as a movie.
The Deus Ex universe is perfectly suited for a movie, since it actually has a narrative. That's more than can be said for most video game adaptations. That doesn't mean this won't be terrible though...
So many video game movies seem to get announced, but so few made. Where's the Halo movie, or Assassin's Creed movie, etc. I'll believe it when the wretched mess is released.
Has it been greenlight? We always hear about video game to movie adaptations over the years but they all seem to end up in development hell aside from something established in the movie space like Resident Evil.
I could also see Colin Farrell being cast. I also see Milla Jovovich as either the merc lady or the ai news lady.
You'd think they'd have made something like a big(ger) budget interactive blu-ray/dvd for a game that's all about choice. And yeah, Keanu's the fuckin' man.

to be fair i much preferred the promotional films they made for deus ex human revolution than the game itself

I was hoping for this to be based on the original... God Damnit. Well, at least hire Elias Toufexus to do Jensen.

Man I've always wanted a movie that skipped over a majority of the plot and only included the boss-fights! But why isn't M. Knight Shaymalan not directing?
