Deus Ex 3 concept art shows a man smoking, nano enhanced lungs confirmed photo

A billion years ago, in 2007, Eidos Montreal quietly announced Deus Ex 3. Since then, only a teaser trailer and a few details have flown our way. The above concept artwork is from a new “sneak peek” of Deux Ex 3 at Gamereactor. The article and the source image have disappeared off of the website, but we’re guessing that is just a coincidence -- not a government conspiracy.

Either way, this is especially interesting but hard to analyze. You see a man, whom you can only suppose is the protagonist Adam Jensen, smoking a cigarette in the foreground with a large city looming in the background. I’m taking special notice of the hexagon on Jensen’s forehead, because it looks cool. I also dig the subtle “future” (it is set in 2027) take with this. That city and Jensen look familiar. It’s only a slight contrast from what you and I see on a daily basis.

If you didn’t know, Deus Ex 3 is a prequel to the original Deus Ex. That means this game will have practically have nothing to do with Invisible War. I’ll leave it at that.

i don't think they really deserve another chance after ruining Deus Ex 2, so unless this turns out to be the best game ever it will be a very hard sell for me.

I've only played Deus Ex 1, so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt with this one.

Invisible war did indeed suck ass in light of the first game, but it certainly wasnt that bad of a game on its own merits.Of course no game that bears the legendary name of Deus Ex will ever hold up to the standards of the first one, especially without Warren Spector attached to it.So my only hope is this new DE holds up better than the last one.

To all other Deus Ex fans out there: I am replaying the original right now, just got to China. Trust me, this game is still incredibly fucking great, even by today's "great game" standards. It's really worth giving it a second go if you have even the slightest inclination to because of this. I started playing it after I read that interview with one of the developers of this game, in which he says that Deus Ex was too slow.

what's up with cigarettes? you'd think in the future they'd end nicotine addiction.

That reminds me of my favorite part about the first game:
You could break open a cigarette dispenser and chainsmoke yourself to death in about 5 seconds!

I agree with T9X.

While it was nowhere near as good as DE1 (then again, what is? :P ), DE2 was still a pretty good game.

I lost all hope in this game when in one of the first interviews I read, the interviewee (I forget who it was) started talking about making the game more accessible and shit. Considering how simplified Deus Ex 2 was compared to the first, does this mean Deus Ex 3 is just going to be a straight shooter?

If they do make it a straight shooter (Project Snowblind, anyone?)I am not buying it.
Deus Ex is an amazing game, even by todays standards.

I played Invisible War first, back on Xbox, and I loved it,so then I bought the original, and it really is a shit-ton better, but does that make IW a horrible game?

Of course not.

I'm happy we're getting another Deus Ex at all at least, I really thought this franchise was gone for good for a while there
